Past week report

[Y-end]

  • Checked the height of filters by the release sensor. The filters were not touching the sensors.
  • The F3 keystone was touching the stopper. Adjusted the weight on the BF.
  • The motion of BF keystone was very damped. Adjusted the position of secondary coil.
  • Adjusted the gain for F0 LVDT in the driver. Calibrated the F0 LVDT.
  • Adjusted the phase/gain for IP LVDT in the driver. Calibrated the IP LVDTs.
  • Set the height of F0 keystone to -9mm so that the height of BF can be at the nominal posision.
  • Released the IP. Each (H1, H2, H3) transfer function and spectrum looked natural.
  • Diagonalized transfer functions and spectra showed that the mode L and T are not degenerated (0.07Hz and 0.13Hz).
  • Checked inside of the corrugate tube by the long fiber scope. Any problems were not found.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Adjustment of the TF, the BF damper, and the IP in X-end (Feb 26-28).

Type B (Mark)

Report for week of 2/12 (February 12th)

  • On Saturday we moved the vertical IM OSEMs in order to compensate for a large pitch in the IM introduced when the IR laser as aligned.
    • I took transfer functions over the weekend and the system looks healthy.
    • Although moving the OSEMs was done successfully, I accidentally pulled the cables and moved the flying saucer cable clamp set. I rotated it back judging the position by visual inspection, but an IM yaw drift appeared since then. It's moving with a speed of 0.2 urad/min.
    • On Tuesday we moved the Im back to zero but the drift continued. At the time of writing these lines it is at -833 urad, with H2 and H3 at 93 um and 47 um and still drifting.
  • On Saturday we connected the SRM geophones in-air cables and confirmed we had a signal.
    • However, on Wednesday morning the geophones are not giving any signal. We cheked the master model channel and realized the problem was not the slave model. We suspect a hardware fault.
    • I checked the in-air cables were connected.
  • We released the SRM optical bench and wiped the places where sticky tape was used to fix support blocks.
  • We wiped the SR2 optical bench and security structure. SR3 and SRM had been wiped by Hirose-san, Hirata-san and Fujii-kun.
  • Terrence started the previously prepared new model tower models for SRM and BS with the new ALIGN filters which is a copy of the TEST filter. The WD threshold for LVDTs and geophones are now separated.
  • Terrence worked on splitting the real-time models for the SR2 and SR3. The models worked with the new features now, with DAQ reset in some cases and with help of Miyakawa-san for configuring some DGS related documents (rtcsystab, master, safe.snap, etc).
  • Before starting the new models for SR2, Terrence completely shut off SR2 and swapped the power spool with the power strip that was previously prepared.
  • Terrence edited the DGS OVERALL screen to show the new SR2 and SR3 models. The TYPE B OVERALL MEDM screen was also modified so taking separate snapshots for the ALIGN and OPTIC ALIGN blocks is available. The corresponding burt request files were also created.
  • The corresponding Marco files were also updated to account for the model split and the new DCUIDs. Some mistakes in the Marco files were fixed.
  • The Guardian systems for all TYPE B suspensions were all shut off and the suspensions were put in the safe mode manually.
  • All Type B Guardian modules are pointing to the generic type B Guardian model (TYPEB.py). It was partially modified for the commissioning next week and Terrence will keep working on it in the afternoon.
  • Today the pumping down of the central area will begin around noon. We will monitor the four inverted pendulums
