KAGRA vibration isolation meeting (29th of August 2012) Attendees: DeSalvao, Takahashi, Majorana, Sekiguchi, Uchiyama Riccardo: He stays in Scotland and, with Nicholas Lockerbie, optimized the design of the OSEM for the intermediate mass and finished it. (Riccardo's commnet after meeting: Yesterday we found a problem with the new LED, had to return to the old LED, we are redesigning the supports) Nick would like to join KAGRA collaboration. Riccardo prepares the application. And they continue the optimization of the OSEM for the test mass. Riccardo will also try the cryogenic test for the OSEM. Kazuhiro pointed out that the Si pin diode does not work at low temperauter but the InGaAs works. (Riccardo' comment: Nick points out that PIN Si diodes only slow down with temperature, due to lower mobility of the front electro implanted ions, and may be still OK at 20 K, he will test) Riccardo visited Glasgow University. Now, they have a plan to study the silicon breaking point. Ryutaro asked whether Riccardo has the design of the circuit of the shadow sensor. Nick sent the design of the drive for the LED. The design for the readout is the same as that of LIGO. Ettore: He will arrive at Japan on the 29th of the Spetember and leave on the 14th of the October. On the 17th and 18th of the September, he will visit IMPEX and Moltech. Kazuhiro will send the list of questions before his visit and discuss it with Ettore. Takanori: In order to attend the ELiTES thermal noise workshop, he stayed at Jena in Germany. While he stayed in Germany, the driver for the LVDT actutor was delivered. He checked it on this Monday. The power supply and (D-sub) connectors are necessary. Ettore: Did somebody test the amplifier of the Geophone ? Although Ryutaro received it, he did not check yet. Riccardo suggested that it is better to check before Alessandro will visit Japan. Ryutaro submitted the application of Ettore to JSPS. The application from Ettore is not necessary. Ryutaro: The payload prototype was delivered. But the jigs to assemble are necessary and were ordered. Ettore explained the Virgo BS payload.
