Commissioning Workshop 2017 in KAGRA
We had commissioning workshops several times in Virgo, LIGO and GEO in the past. This time, we are planning to have the workshop for the first time in KAGRA. The main focus of the workshop this time is "PEM injection techniques for noise hunting". KAGRA is still under construction, but we have an operational mode cleaner. Our proposal is to use this MC as a testbed for various PEM injection techniques. The current KAGRA commissioning team has little experience in PEM injections. So we are eager to learn latest techniques from experienced commissioners from other groups. On the other hand, working in an underground site can be interesting and beneficial to participants from other projects to consider future GW detectors.
We can also do some activities specific to the underground environment. One possibility is estimation of Newtonian noise from the water flow in the tunnel. Our MC is not so well commissioned at this moment. So general noise hunting of the MC can also be a topic of the workshop.
The general purpose of this workshop series is making connections between commissioners from different GW projects through the exchange of commissioning knowledge. We hope this workshop will also contribute towards this purpose.
