Tanaka, Kita * Tried to take balance of the TMS-VIS with aligning the BRT's optical axis by adjusting the lengths of legs of the BRT base plate, and moving the dummy or ballast masses. It was quite tough and inunderstandable... the more we tried the worse the result became; we finally got back close to the initail state, which would be the best. * What are the reason of the hardness? 1. Firstly our plan is to (1) fix the TMS-VIS with a hamper plate and three shims as they would fix the TMS-VIS at its proper position and alignment, then (2) tweak the lengths of the BRT's legs so that the optical axis becomes aligned, (3) then put the other optics like steering mirrors, HBS, and lens, (4) then release and compensate the tilt of the TMS to be happened by ballast or dummy masses. 1. But our plan stacked at the step (2); we have already put "the other optics" on the BRT table in their rought positions, and then the TMS-VIS was fluffy even with the hamper plate and the shims!! and leg-length way became not well worked before we got a nice optical axis; the move of the optical axis became insensitve to the leg length at some point! Probably the fluffy TMS-VIS would move to compensate the change of the BRT legs... 1. Then, lost our ways. Moved the ballast masses or dummy masses and back, tweaking the lengths of the legs of the BRT... and... == Next plan == * Align and balance the BRT and the TMS-VIS. * Configure the digital models properly. * Detach the remaining white tapes just before closing the chamber; be noted that there are white tapes on the PEEK connectors at the inside of the flanges. * Torque completely the bolts which are fixing the upper and the lower base plates. * Insert metal gaskets before torquing the ICF203 flanges with Dsub connectors. * Align BRT * Start to install GPT part * Damping of TMS-VIS == Wanted! == * A document for learning how to release or fix the suspended tables (by Uraguchi?).
