PEM injection in bKAGRA phase1

(Description will be translated to English at some point)

Aims

bKAGRA phase1 における、

  • 干渉計感度への環境雑音の影響のプロジェクション
  • 散乱光のキャラクタリゼーション
  • 雑音の形態学的スタディ

Injection types

  • Acoustic injection (AcI)
  • Magnetic injection (MaI)
  • Shaking injection (ShI)

What we want to do

Necessary

  • Measuring coupling functions between environmental noise and interferometer signal
  • Measuring environmental noise using several sensors
  • Spectrogram of the interferometer signal during injection

If possible

  • Narrow down coupling locations
  • Narrow down environmental noise source locations
  • Switch off test
  • Identify line noise sources
  • RF noise measurement around RF modulation sideband frequencies.

Candidates of measurement points

  • PSL
  • IMC (mirrors, refl table)
  • IFI
  • PRM
  • BS
  • ETMX/Y (1F,2F)
  • TMS (both end)
  • WAB
  • Arms

(including racks of each points for control and DAQ.)

Schedule

(VERY ROUGH)

  • Before bKAGRA phase1 run (Detailed date has not been fixed): Preparation and rehearsal of PEM injection (end-to-end test, maybe without actual injection)
  • After bKAGRA phase1 run (Detailed date has not been fixed): Injection test in tunnel
  • After injection test: Analysis, make report, (if possible) write paper

To be prepared

  • CDS (Real time model, DAC, ADC, DQ)
  • Calibration (Sensors, DAC, ADC)
  • Analysis code to calculate coupling function (peaks, comb, broad)
  • Spectrogram tools

(Part of) to do list

  • Obtain S/N on JGWdoc for all PEM related things, e.g. sensors, actuators, amplifiers, non-standard cables.
  • Calibrate sensors and actuators.
    • Consider how to calibrate them.
  • Consider how many DAC, ADC, CH are required at each measurement point.
  • Consider how many people are required.
  • Make analysis codes
  • Gather all required instruments listed in above tables.
