* Activity report for week of 12/19 * Mark and Fabian checked Hirata-san's drawings and parts/fastener lists for the SRM/PRM order and various other drawings. D1605964, D1605965, D1605956, D1605963, D1605977, etc. * Fabian designed a simple two-piece hold-down device to immobilize the SRx IMs during the optic and RM hanging. It avoids having to remachine all the IM support bars to allow for hold-down screws. The Type Bp team might also want to use it. * Aso-san and Mark discussed the BF issue from last week. * It was decided to ask Takahashi-san to take a look at the BF while he's at Kamioka this week. * It was decided to have the BS bottom filter moved to Mitaka for tuneup and adjustment as soon as possible in the new year. * Raffaele, Aso-san, Mark and Fabian discussed having much smaller/shorter BS and SR stub flags plus longer, coil-only OSEMs. * Aso-san volunteered to do the OSEM design. * Hirata-san made Pack'n'Go archives of the existing designs as a baseline for Aso-san. * Hirata-san searched for missing PR mirror box parts. * Miyakawa-san finished recabling the PR2 rack and got the real-time model running again. The model still needs lots of work, but it has the OSEM functionality needed for the next test-hang stage, plus Okutomi-san's improvements. |
=== Type B (Mark) === ==== Past week report ==== At Kamioka (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Perry, Hirata-san): * Craned in the PI. * Assembled the thrust bearing holder that receives the PI-SF rod. (It originally had a burr that prevented the bearing from seating properly, and so required filing and re-cleaning.) * Hooked the SF and lowered the jacks under the SF to suspend the SF/... section. * The top filter rose when unlocked, and required about 1.8 kg to send it back down. Therefore we may be OK - the top filter seems to have about 8 kg more capacity than as measured by G&M. The hex cable clamp (≈0.25 kg) and the cables between the PI and SF still have to be added, but we can get an extra 3 kg by removing one of the three Cu damper segments (and rearranging the other two). * Built and installed three LBB blade units. * Kept debugging the SF LVDT. We repaired several broken wires, but it's still not behaving correctly. ==== Plan for coming weeks ==== For more detail, see KAGRA/Subgroups/VIS/TypeB/ToDo. Week of 5/1: * No activity (Golden Week). Week of 5/8: * Work from Tuesday. * Remove PI temporarily. * Add magnets to upper SF damper ring. * Reinstall PI with damper ring. * Reinstall PI-SF rod, this time with hex cable clamp. * Install PI yaw stepper. * Wire up PI yaw and vertical steppers. * Route cables from SF to PI (may involve removing part of Cu damper). |

Past week report
At Kamioka (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Perry, Hirata-san):
- Craned in the PI.
- Assembled the thrust bearing holder that receives the PI-SF rod. (It originally had a burr that prevented the bearing from seating properly, and so required filing and re-cleaning.)
- Hooked the SF and lowered the jacks under the SF to suspend the SF/... section.
The top filter rose when unlocked, and required about 1.8 kg to send it back down.
- Built and installed three LBB blade units.
- Kept debugging the SF LVDT. We repaired several broken wires, but it's still not behaving correctly.
