==== Past week report ==== At Kamioka (Mark, Ohishi-san, Enzo, Yoshioka-kun, Kozu-kun): * We removed the LBB damper rings from the tank and passed them to Takahashi-san for recleaning. Unfortunately two screws galled, one holding on a Cu segment, and one holding on a joint piece. * We removed the LBB blade units from the PI, removed the blades and shipped them off for rework. * We pulled out all the old in-air cabling. * We laid about 9 new in-air cables. * We wrapped/labelled the BS mirror box, the winch system, the trolley adapters, and many other tools that we do not expect to use any time soon. * We connected up, tested and calibrated the BF LVDT. * We adjusted the ballast mass on the IM to make it hang level and at the right height. However we had to reduce the weight by a further 686 g relative to the plan of 2017-08-09. We found a combination that was good except for the fact that it used round masses on the bottom corners, so we decided to have the 641 g rectangular masses cut down by 60 g each. Mesco was able to do this within 24 hours. We will reclean the parts on Friday afternoon and swap them in on Monday. |
==== Report for week of 1/15 ==== * We set up the QPD for the OL, initialized the OL and TM sections of the RTM, and did TFs from the TM OSEMs to the OL. * Initially we had no coherence, but we debugged issues with the watchdog, LPCD, and DAC board and then got good TFs. * We lifted the IM/RM/SR with the load gauge adapter and checked the weight, which was close to the mass budget. * We installed the section of the AF above the IM, and the BF cross bars and jacks, and craned in the BF. * We installed the BF-IRM rods, IRM, BF-IM rod, flying saucer and the cable clamps on the bottom of the BF. * We hooked the IM section, but found it was heavy by several hundred grams. We also noticed the BF keystone had a noticeable tilt of about 1.2 mm (high on the +X side). * We removed 738 g of trim mass and found that load rose and sat about 2 mm high. So the discrepancy is of order 500-600 g. * Shoda-san, Enzo and Kozu-kun made and characterized a batch of OSEMs. * Hirata-san finished drawings for the improved BS PI yaw/vertical adjustment, placed orders for damping ring receptacles and other items, and prepared the second SR BF in case we needed to swap it in. ==== Plan for week of 1/22 ==== * Fix or swap BF. * Route selected cables to flange. * Test IM picos and BF yaw pico. |

==== Plan for week of 8/21 ==== Vacation: Fabian (Mon)<
> Internship: Kozu-kun (Mon-Fri)<
> Kamioka: Mark, Ohishi, Fabian (Tue-Fri), Enzo, Yoshioka-kun (Tue, Wed, Fri). * Swap in new IM ballast masses; tweak height and levelness. * Install side panels of IRM and OSEMs. * Route IRM OSEM cables, test/adjust IRM OSEMs. * Add BF cap; cable and test BF-1 and BF-2 picos. * Lift and weigh BF/IRM/IM/RM/BS; adjust ballast mass. * Crane in SF. * Try TFs with optical sensors. Mitaka: Hirata-san. * SR stuff. ==== Plan for week of 8/28 ==== Vacation: Fabian (Mon)<
> Internship: Kozu-kun (Mon-Fri)<
> Kamioka: Mark, Ohishi, Fabian (Tue-Fri), Enzo, Yoshioka-kun (Tue, Wed, Fri). * Swap in new IM ballast masses; tweak height and levelness. * Install side panels of IRM and OSEMs. * Route IRM OSEM cables, test/adjust IRM OSEMs. * Add BF cap; cable and test BF-1 and BF-2 picos. * Lift and weigh BF/IRM/IM/RM/BS; adjust ballast mass. * Crane in SF. * Try TFs with optical sensors. ==== Plan for week of 1/29 ==== * Enzo at Mitaka 1/29 and most of 1/30, then vacation. * Kozu-kun away. * All others at Kamioka. * Build IRM around IM. * Cable/test/adjust IM OSEMs. * Time permitting, do TFs from IM OSEMs to themselves and to optical sensor. |
