* Type B Past Week Summary * Fabian worked on IM and dummy BS assembly: photos1, photos2 * A hole in a picomotor holder was too small. ATC staff solved this isue quickly and Hirata-san cleaned the piece. * Some ballast discs for the dummy optic were dirty (seen by visual inspection). Hirata-san cleaned them. * Some arrows were cleaned from the mirrors for the dummy optic. * Hirata-san worked on checking Mirapro's assembly frame design - some minor issues with rail system found. * Hirata-san measured another filter. * Hirata-san washed a large batch of parts. * All parts for gluing of dummy BS are in hand. We arranged with Tatsumi-san to glue magnets at Mitaka on 6/6, glue flags at Kashiwa on 6/8, and inspect bonds and bring dummy BS back to Mitaka 6/13. * Mark worked on solutions to allow a larger mirror on dummy BS. After discussions with Simon and Akutsu-san we decided to go with a stainless steel plate solution. The gluing can go ahead and we can attach the plates later. * Mark worked on list of items for purchase in FY2016. * Mark worked on finding connectors for vacuum-compatible geophone adapters. * Mark worked more on E1504235 BS Assembly Procedure (Draft on OneDrive) * Discussions * Crane will not be available on 13-14 of June. * Review: fix the date (Mark) * Measurement of iKAGRA BS position will be done in the second week of June. Then it will be taken out of the chamber after that (Ohishi) * IM, RM, IRM, dummy BS assembly * Fabian assembled the dummy BS and started on the IM. * Still need to find SDC-treated hook for maraging wire in IM. Still not found. Spare hook is being SDC-treated. Can be added later. * Will start assembly 5/30 * Wires * Fabian analysis RM wire thickness versus mode frequency: link, another link, yet another link (From last week: T1605106 /draft) * Can we make SR wire breakers bigger? * Fukushima-san has not yet started the work. Past week report
At Kamioka (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Perry, Hirata-san):
- We set things up again after the floor coating work.
- We moved the PI into the second floor of the cleanbooth:
- We cleared a path for the forklift (moving the portable cleanroom, worktable, power cables, vacuum pumps and other obstacles).
- We got Saito-sensei to move the PI to the +Y side of the cleanbooth.
- We washed and cling-wrapped a pallet.
- We got Miyoki-san to disconnect the cables and curtain blocking the crane slot (and reconnect them afterwards).
- We added some temporary crossbars in the top of the assembly frame and stored the SF cap on them to get it out of the way.
- We craned in the pallet and set it up to bridge three floor joists.
- We craned in the PI using Saito-san's adapter.
- We couldn't find the original screws for the three PI transport plates so we substituted some others - fortunately there was no galling.
- We had to connect the adapter to the crane with a sling because the ring for the hook was slightly too small).
- We did a lot of cabling work:
- We routed all the BF cables over the BF cap, up through the cable clamp on the SF-BF rod and up to the SF. (We had to redo a few because the Type 3 cable was at the flange end instead of the Type 1.)
- We connected up the SF LVDT and FR stepper.
- We started on rebalancing the BF (which had been perturbed by the weight and tension of all the cables). We got it rather better, but it needs more work.
- We made another batch of anti-feedthrough adapters.
