==== Report for week of 5/28 ==== * Enzo tested the LVDT driver repaired by Tanaka-san - it was fine. * Fujii-kun and Enzo finished assembling a batch of 4 geophones and took test data. * Hirata-san modified some Promec masses (drilling out the threads on 2 of 4 holes) so we could use two layers of them inside the BF. * Hirata-san installed maraging rod receptacles in the LBB damper rings, and in the bottom of PIs #3 and #1 (for the SF damper rings). * After consulting with various people, Hirata-san installed the second half of the LBB top ring in the chamber, simply omitting the pillar and screw associated with the badly threaded hole. * Hirata-san took delivery of the screws for the LBB blade units, made up 9 blade units and installed 6 of them on PI #3 and #1 (for SR3 and SR2). * Hirata-san made up a set of PI cable clamps and installed them on PI #3 (for SR3). * Hirata-san removed the prototype blades from PI #3 to get ready for testing the final blades. * We located the #355 disk and #356 poles for the next level of the security structure up to the SF and installed the poles. * We installed ballast mass in the BF. After some trial and error we settled on 16 Promec masses (7.1 kg) inside the BF and 5 D1808104-4 and 3 D1808104-5 masses (540 g) on the cap. * Enzo and Fujii-kun did several rounds of TFs on the BF/... section of the suspension and debugged a problem with dewhitening filters not being installed in the OSEMINF filter bank. * Enzo installed damping filters for the IM OSEMs. |
==== Report for week of 9/10 ==== * We finish the invacuum and in air cabling for SR2, but the in-vacuum cables for Geophones and F0 Yaw stepper motor are just temporary and will be replaced later once the suspension is inside the tank. * We checked all the motors: * IM picos, BF picos. * BF Stepper (Fishing rod), SF Stepper (SF Fishing rod), F0 Stepper (F0 Fishing rod). * IP Steppers (Horizontal fishing rods). * We use the Steppers to set to nominal height the BF and SF, but for the SF we culd not move it too much and it is still too low. * We set up the temporary oplev for SR2. * We checked the pitch of the optics. The current pitch is: * We tried to check the TM actuators but there is a problem with the MEDM screens that we need to fix next week. * We measured TFs of the GAS filters and the 6 DoF of the IM. It seems to be healthy. * We set the F0 stepper to middle position. * ... |

==== Plan for week of 6/4 ==== * Mark, Enzo, Hirata-san, Kozu-kun at Kamioka Tue-Fri. (Mon is NAOJ medical checkup.) * -- * Cable and test BF cap picos. * Crane in security structure disk at SF level. * Crane in SF and remove cap. * Hook BF and adjust total ballast. * Route cables through SF-BF flying saucer up to bottom of SF. * Adjust BF trim mass. * Readjust payload. * Take TFs. * Characterize final F0 blades. |
=== Type B (Mark) === ==== Report for week of 9/3 ==== * We did more in-vacuum and in-air cabling for SR2 and got nearly everything connected. * We debugged the IM OSEMs and fixed two broken in-vacuum cables and some mislabeled in-air cables. * We debugged an issue with the IP LVDTs and discovered it was a broken interface card D1402829 in the LVDT driver. We made up a working chassis with the original two driver cards, so we didn't have to reset all the phases and gains. * We reset the IP FRs to midrange. * We added a basic set of arc weights and recentered the IP. We then adjusted the verticality of the security structure. * We relocked the IP temporarily, unlocked the SF/... section and aligned the IM OSEMs. * We powered down the BS, SR3 and SR2 electronics in preparation for the power outage. |

==== Plan for week of 9/10 ==== * Monday 9/10 is scheduled power outage. * Mark in US (job interview). * Hirata-san, Fabian, Kozu-kun, Panwei at Kamioka Tue-Fri. * Enzo at Kamioka Tue-Thu, then JPS Meeting Fri, then vacation. ===== Etc ===== * Recover from power outage. ===== SR2 ===== * Calibrate F0 LVDTs. * Calibrate IP LVDTs. * Cable geophones and any other remaining PI items. * Finish in-air cabling (sort out and relabel rack and feedthrough ends of any repurposed cables). * Do basic go/no-go test of electronic items. * Check SF keystone height and offload with FR as necessary. * Adjust ballast/trim mass of SF, with reserve for yaw stepper. * Set SF damper magnet ring height. * Check/tweak optic pitch. * TFs. ==== Plan for week of 9/17 ==== * Monday 9/17 is holiday (Respect for the Aged Day). * Enzo on vacation. * Mark, Hirata-san, Fabian, Panwei at Kamioka Tue-Fri. ===== SR2 ===== * Crane SR2 into tank. * Move SR2 in-air cables. * Remove First Contact. * Unlock and realign suspension. ===== SRM ===== * Set pitch of SRM and RM, tighten clamps, remove winch system. * Weigh IM/... section. * Build up SS to BF level. * Add BF. ==== Plan for week of 9/24 ==== * Monday 9/24 is holiday (Autumn Equinox). * Mark, Hirata-san, Fabian, Panwei at Kamioka Tue-Fri. * Suspend IM and tweak height/balance. ===== SRM ===== * Cable/test BF. * Install IRM. * Install/cable/test IM OSEMs. |
