| * Type B Past Week Summary * Mark, Fabian and Hirata-san cleaned glue off the dummy BS, attached Akutsu-san's new SS mirror plates, reglued the flags and prisms, and removed the gluing hardware, so the dummy BS is ready for shipping. Tatsumi-san's refinements to the tooling (especially the new flag holders) worked very smoothly. We were more generous with the glue and much more careful with the alignment of the prisms to the barrel, both during rehearsal and the final gluing. * Mark wrote up the gluing procedure as a new document [[http://gwdoc.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/cgi-bin/private/DocDB/ShowDocument?docid=5505| E1605505]]. (The original plan was to do an addendum to Tatsumi-san's PR gluing procedure JGW-E1504248, but there was too much material.) * Hirata-san organized with Takahashi-san to get the BS payload masses shipped to Kamioka. They will go in an air-ride truck on Wed 8/17 together with a load of Type A stuff, and will arrive early on Thu 8/17. * The RM, IM and IRM were weighed, and wrapped/packed for shipment to Kamioka. * Mark made a checklist of all the parts of the BS mirror box and gluing jig, to help with collecting the parts from Kashiwa. * Mark, Fabian and Hirata-san retrieved the dummy BS and mirror box from Kashiwa. * Fabian designed an extra 600 g of trim masses for the IM and Hirata-san made drawings and ordered them. The design allows for the masses to be added to the IM even after it has been placed in the assembly frame and the dummy optic and RM have been hung, so it should not delay work. * Mark worked on the schedule, making the next few weeks more realistic and incorporating the new plan for the SR RMs (the test will be used for SR2 but two more will be made from scratch next financial year). * Fabian worked on the payload assembly procedure. * Hirata-san washed 7 OSEMs for Akutsu-san, and various other parts for Yamamoto-san of ICRR. * Hirata-san removed the remaining glue from the BS primary and secondary prisms, as well as the prisms removed from the PR hanging test mirror. === Type B (Mark) === ==== Report for week of 3/12 ==== * We helped Mirapro close up the BS tank, and did last minute checks and adjustments, including using the fishing rods to reset the GAS keystones to mid-range according to the LVDTs. (The F0 had risen so far (≈7 mm) due to temperature changes that it was touching the upper keystone stop screws and defeating the vibration isolation. We operated the F0 FR manually while the tank lid was off.) * We installed electronic boxes in the SR3 and SRM racks. Enzo set the phases and gains on the LVDT drivers for both racks. Rack internal cabling and in-air cabling to SR3 still needs to be done. * Hirata-san disassembled two BFs (one SF BF with a tilted keystone and the BS Test Hang BF) and characterized all 10 available SR BF blades. He found they fell into a group of 6 strong ones and a group of 4 weak ones, so he divided the 6 into two matched sets and rebuilt the two filters. * We noticed that the bottom level of SR2 suspension had developed a significant yaw (enough to foul on the security structure), probably introduced when we picked the chain up to weigh it, so we lifted the suspension again and corrected it. * We aligned the SR2 ready for TFs. We noticed that the IM/... section had a noticeable roll (≈20 mrad) but we were unable to correct it with the IM roll pico (the pico runs but the roll does not change, probably because there is too much friction for the mass return spring). - We helped Mirapro close up the BS tank, and did last minute checks and adjustments, including using the fishing rods to reset the GAS keystones to mid-range according to the LVDTs.
