| * Type B Past Week Summary * Mark, Fabian and Hirata-san cleaned glue off the dummy BS, attached Akutsu-san's new SS mirror plates, reglued the flags and prisms, and removed the gluing hardware, so the dummy BS is ready for shipping. Tatsumi-san's refinements to the tooling (especially the new flag holders) worked very smoothly. We were more generous with the glue and much more careful with the alignment of the prisms to the barrel, both during rehearsal and the final gluing. * Mark wrote up the gluing procedure as a new document [[http://gwdoc.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/cgi-bin/private/DocDB/ShowDocument?docid=5505| E1605505]]. (The original plan was to do an addendum to Tatsumi-san's PR gluing procedure JGW-E1504248, but there was too much material.) * Hirata-san organized with Takahashi-san to get the BS payload masses shipped to Kamioka. They will go in an air-ride truck on Wed 8/17 together with a load of Type A stuff, and will arrive early on Thu 8/17. * Hirata-san shipped the collection of Type B fasteners to Kamioka, to arrive Mon 8/15. * Hirata-san measured another standard filter and cleaned various parts for people. * Hirata-san worked on the SR2 Inventor assembly. He spotted a problem with the orientation: given the position of the pistons in the SR2 tank (according to the assembly from Mirapro), mating the standard Type B SR chain and the chamber in the natural way puts the optic at 90° to what it needs to be. A similar problem was found in the Type B Test at Mitaka, and it was eventually worked around, but with some difficulty. Hirata-san will investigate the best way of making a correction. * Fabian worked on the payload assembly procedure. * Komori-kun, Kuwahara-kun and Akutsu-san calibrated an initial batch of 7 wide-mouthed OSEMs. They will be shipped to Kamioka on Friday. * Type B ongoing issues * OSEMs * First batch of 7 ready for shipping. * Longer cables for BF->PI and SF->PI. * Connectors RECEIVED, cables being made. * Lower breadboard stuff * Installation to be incorporated into the procedure document. === Type B (Mark) === ==== Past week report ==== At Kamioka (Mark, Ohishi-san, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san, Yoshioka-kun, Kozu-kun): * We characterized the remachined LBB blades, chose three and installed them in the LBB blade units in the PI. * We removed all sticky labels from the PI and cleaned the affected areas (and as much as possible of the rest of the surface) with ethanol. * We rearranged the arc weights on the PI to make space for the magic wand and installed the magic wand. * We rearranged the magnets on the SF damper ring to suit three Cu segments (instead of two as in the test hang). * We put proper vacuum-compatible tubing around all the stepper motor connections on the top of the PI (replacing cling wrap). * We craned out the SF temporarily and retrieved the lost PEEK cable clamp collet from the BF. * We closed the BF, craned the SF back in, and hooked the BF/..., this time with the hex cable clamp. * We routed cables from the BF via the hex cable clamp to the SF level. * We adjusted the BF trim mass for pitch, roll and vertical, and got the IRM hanging symmetrically around the IM. * We adjusted all the IRM OSEMs laterally and in/out. * We calibrated the SF LVDT and tested the SF FR stepper. * We suspended the SF/... section and weighed it but found the old 7-mm maraging rod adapter did not hold it at the center, so we had to lift it with slings and could not accurately trim it for pitch/roll. * Therefore we brought forward the craning in of the PI with the SF damper ring hanging from it. * We suspended the SF successfully from the PI and unlocked the F0 keystone to check the mass budget. We needed about 1.5 kg extra, which is about right considering the hex cable clamp and cables. * However we had to leave out the F0-SF hex cable clamp because of a bad thread on the inside of the cap. Past week report
At Kamioka (Mark, Ohishi-san, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san, Yoshioka-kun, Kozu-kun):
- We characterized the remachined LBB blades, chose three and installed them in the LBB blade units in the PI.

- We adjusted the BF trim mass for pitch, roll and vertical, and got the IRM hanging symmetrically around the IM.
- We adjusted all the IRM OSEMs laterally and in/out.
- We calibrated the SF LVDT and tested the SF FR stepper.
- We suspended the SF/... section and weighed it but found the old 7-mm maraging rod adapter did not hold it at the center, so we had to lift it with slings and could not accurately trim it for pitch/roll.
- Therefore we brought forward the craning in of the PI with the SF damper ring hanging from it.
- We suspended the SF successfully from the PI and unlocked the F0 keystone to check the mass budget. We needed about 1.5 kg extra, which is about right considering the hex cable clamp and cables.
