Main Assembly Sequence

    • F0 LVDT actuation

  • Lock the F0 and SF keystones and measure the resonance frequency of the BF GAS 2 Measurements: f1=0.443 Hz, f2=0.454 Hz.
  • Lock the SF and BF keystones and measure the resonance frequency of the F0 GAS 2 Measurements: f1=0.208 Hz, f2=0.210 Hz.
  • Double check BS pitch with OL.
  • Adjust SF damper ring to correct gap.
  • Install lock nuts on F0 GAS FR at TBD positions.
  • Lock BF and F0 keystones (but not SF keystone).

  • Lock RM to BS, IRM to IM and IM to RM.
  • Lock RM, IRM and BF (but not SF) to security structure.
  • Lock IP.
  • Remove F0 keystone top plate (including yaw stepper) and immobilize SF/... in yaw.
  • Attach lifting fixture.
  • Remove BF- and SF-level crossbars.
  • Remove geophones for craning.
  • Disconnect in-vacuum cables from feedthrough and coil neatly for craning.
  • Attach lifting plates.

Tank Preparation Sequence

  • Attach Cu segments to LBB damper ring.
  • Pass halves of LBB magnet ring into tank, join, and make sandwich for craning.
  • Crane tank lid off.
  • Crane LBB damper rings to top of tank and suspend.
  • Crane suspension out of assembly frame.
  • Attach LBB upper rods to LBB blade tips and rotate suspension 45° clockwise.
  • Crane suspension into tank and connect upper rods to LBB Cu ring.
  • Fix poorly seated head.
  • Unlock suspension and readjust.

  • Fix issue with geophone distributor.

2017-09-11

Main Assembly Sequence

  • Debug other actuation.
  • Remove F0-SF rod and reinstall with hex cable clamp.
  • Route cables up past hex cable clamps.
  • Adjust SF trim mass for pitch/roll/vertical.
  • Route all SF/... cables through to the flange and test.
  • Cable all PI items through to the flange.
  • Disconnect the SS from the AF.
  • Recheck/adjust SF/... yaw.
  • Roughly level the PI so as to make the SS vertical.
  • Unlock the IP and adjust the level of the PI and the horizontal FRs to center the IP.
  • Test all PI items:
    • Horizontal steppers
    • Geophones
  • Lock the F0 and BF keystones and measure the resonance frequency of the SF GAS. 425 mHz

  • Fix links to ADC_MONITOR screens.

Main Assembly Sequence

  • Crane out SF.
  • Raise BF cap and retrieve lost hex cable clamp PEEK piece.
  • Crane in SF.
  • Install SF-BF rod with hex cable clamp.
  • Route cables via hex cable clamp up to below SF.
  • Adjust BF ballast mass for total weight and pitch/roll.
  • Look for missing screw from SF damper Cu segment in washed screws bag and reinstall.
  • Adjust yoke on SF to put top of secondary at 6 mm above top of baseplate (or to give ≈0 counts at nominal height).
  • Calibrate SF LVDT.
  • Install SF main ballast mass.
  • Cable and test SF fishing rod stepper.
  • Add SF cap.
  • Lift and weigh SF/... section.

In parallel

  • Rearrange arc weights on PI to allow installation of magic wand.
  • Install magic wand on PI.
  • Rearrange magnets on SF damper magnet ring for full three Cu segments.
  • Find Ni-plated rods for SF damper magnet ring and do fit check.
  • Find PI-SF rod with 8 mm heads and matching receptacles and do fit check.

    • Find/clean Saito-sensei's PI lifting adapter and any needed fasteners.
    • Check both crane remote controls (clean and dirty) are charged.
  • Prepare PI for moving.
    • Remove accelerometers and store safely.
    • Remove large weights. (How? With forklift at last minute? Where to?)
    • Remove arc weights (move some to second floor, wrap rest for storage).
    • Attach lifting plates.
    • Wrap with clingwrap, cover with spare cleanbag.
    • Remove old cabling from PI to rack.
  • Prepare second floor for receiving PI.
    • Clean and clingwrap pallet.
    • Find metal plates and/or duckboards for on top of pallets.
    • Move BS cables on -Y side of tank off top of beam.
    • Find shims (about 75 mm high) to put on beam where cables were, to help support pallet.
