• Three big categories of the tasks

• Task list/schedule

  • Kick off meeting within February (Mark)
• BS prism preparation (Mark)
  • Now have quotes for both prisms and grooves for orders of both 4 and 12:

• Got a quotation from Shinko-sha (Takahashi)
  • 260KJPY for two. Lead time = 1.5month
• We will order 6 to Shinko-sha
  • Takahashi will call the compnay to have a meeting
  • Aso will check with Ohashi-san about the budget
  • We will use the saphhire prisms for the test hanging too

• The company suggested another US company for V-cut. Mark will contact them.

• Got a quotation from Shinko-sha (Takahashi)
  • 260KJPY for two. Lead time = 1.5month
• With the V-cut company being different from what LIGO used, the advantage of using US companies is not clear now.
• One possibility for risk reduction: buy 2 from US, 4 from JP and use 2 from JP for test hanging to see if they work fine or not. If they work fine, we can continue to use them for SR. If they fail, we have another set to try from US.
• Can we make SR wire breakers bigger ?

  • Check what happens if we widen the slit by 3.75mm and make a new M5 (Hirata) -> Result

    • Two concerns
      • The rework may bend the wing shaped parts.
      • The P.C.D. of the new screw holes may not coincide exactly with the other existing holes
    • Consult with Fukushima-san again. Takahashi will contact Fukushima-san
      • 型振り放電加工機 may be better
      • Will test machine the dirty recoil mass.
    • Brought back one RM to Mitaka
    • It will take more than 1 month (Fukushima-san)
    • Iwashita-san is preparing some tools for the machine. May take more than they initially expected.

    • Do we need to widen the slits for PRC RMs ? -> Depends on how difficult it is to rework the RM.

• Flag design (Mark)

  • BS Flag Redesign on OneDrive

  • Could make BS optic flag shorter by about 4 mm ("BS Optic Flag Concept 3 (Small Magnet, Short)") but it would cause work for Tatsumi-san for little benefit.
  • Recommend "BS Optic Flag Concept 2 (Small Magnet)"
  • Will make a smaller foot print flag design (Mark)
  • Fabian did rigid IM flag design ("TBD")
    • Mark would like to make a test flag with magnetic attachment.
    • Use a key to determine the rotation angle of the flag
  • Widen the OSEM opening (Akutsu)
• BS dummy optics design (Fabian)

  • The above design seems fine.
  • Hirata-san is waiting for quotes from three companies
• IP base clamp (Fabian): Ordered
• Bread board spring (Takahashi): Got a quotation, but expensive. Looking for other companies.
• Issues with lower optical bench and damper ring.
  • Last week's problem solved: support blocks on damper ring can be moved circumferentially to match support blocks on lower optical bench.
  • New problem: damper ring needs to have central hole enlarged to allow passage of suspension during installation.
    • Asking Mirapro to make a modification
  • New problem: nail-head parts are too short to hook in support blocks - need to be remade longer (and rods shortened to match).
    • Will make a design change.
• BS Assembly Frame Design (Mark, Hirata)
  • Design is almost complete
  • Need to add some mechanism to hook a load gauge
  • Need to add some attachment points (e.g., ferromagnetic plates) for placing wind-shield panels.

  • Take photos of the BS area to see where is the optimal location of the assembly frame (Aso)

• Thinking about a possibility of testing the long filter chain using the prototype EQ stop in Kashiwa.
• Organize a kick-off meeting in the later half of March, concentrating on the room temperature part. (Takahashi)
• Prototype long maraging rods (heat treated) were delivered from Aoyama
• #Type-A Filters Optimal Load Measurements

  • #Takahashi will make a plan for the optimal load check and ask ATC.-> Check two filters per month from April 2016. -> Will be presented to the ATC steering committee.

  • #How to manufacture the long maraging wires ?
    • One prototype was machined by Ojima

    • Aoyama can do the heat treatment for the long rod. Will ask them soon (Takahashi) -> Still waiting for a quotation.

    • How to test it ?
      • We can use the prototype assembly frame in TAMA.

Type-Bp modification

    • Spare mirror is now back to Kashiwa
