• What are necessary in the next few weeks ?

  • Got feedback from Miyakawa-san on BS schematics and item list (JGW-D1503600, E1605111) and status - there should be enough of the boxes AEL is supplying.

    • Takahashi-san asked NIKHEF about oscillator cards for LVDT chassis; 3-4 months lead time; will probably order.
    • Micro-D-SUB connector cables for OSEM: we will use the same pin-out as the PR3. Akutsu-kun will fix the labels on the silk for the flexible circuit when he remakes them.
• Watch dog system (Tanaka)

  • Graceful shutdown mechanism

  • Will give a presentation at the next AEL meeting on 4/18

  • Miyakawa-san liked the format used by Mark and would like similar info on other suspensions as soon as possible. Mark will do Type Bp as soon as Shoda-san finalizes design, but Type A is open.

bKAGRA preparation

• Three big categories of the tasks
  • Type-A: Leader = Takahashi, Okutomi, Ishizaki, a new engineer
  • Type-B (BS and SRC): Leader = Mark, Fabian, Hirata
  • Type-Bp modification: Leader = Shoda, Fujii, A new technician (?)

• Past Week Summary
  • Hirata-san produced a near-final Inventor assembly of the BS on the assembly frame, for use in writing the assembly procedure.
    • Includes assembly frame modifications suggested by Mirapro, including feet, wheels, lifting eyes, thicker crossbars under BF, IM etc.
    • Includes final rail system except for interface plate to mirror box.
    • Includes full PI with ballast masses.
    • Includes cable clamps.
    • Includes correct versions of BF and SF.
    • Includes new BF pushrod parts to work around different placement of blade screws in new version of BF.
    • Includes cleanbag support bars.
    • Includes key parts of mirror box (enough to check for interference) - needs more work.
    • Does not include various invisible duplicate assemblies that had been present due to cut and paste.
  • After a few more improvements, the new assembly will be sent back to Mirapro.

  • Got feedback from Miyakawa-san on schematics and item list (JGW-D1503600, E1605111) and status of AEL items - there should be enough.

  • Quote for flags and prisms was received, but expensive - may drop rigid flag design.

  • Fabian worked on understanding Sekiguchi-san's control design to help decide optimum wire thickness.
  • Mark worked on install procedure and schedule.
  • Takahashi-san enquired with NIKHEF about oscillator cards for LVDT chassis - lead time would be 3-4 months.

  • Decided to hand-make cables for geophones because previously ordered cables have no conductor on pin 5.

• Prototype test
  • Presented a plan at the Type-A meeting.
  • More detail needs to be discussed (Takahashi, Okutomi)
• The test of prototype long maraging rod was finished
  • Will order them soon.
• Type-A Filters Optimal Load Measurements
  • 3 SF measurements were done.
  • The shell of the 2 filters were too tight. Were able to open but could not close one of them. Takahashi will inspect them in the next week.
• Simultion (Okutomi)
  • Still trying the Simulink part to work.
• What do we need to purchase in addition to EQ stops ?
  • Local sensors for BF

Type-Bp modification

• Traverser motor driver (Shoda)
  • Need a box for stepping motor driver. Miyakawa-san is thinking about ordering chassis and boxes for motors. We discussed and agreed that the design of the boxes will be unified. The boxes will be designed and ordered together with those. (16/03/10)
  • Miyakawa-san received the Traverser motor driver.

    • -> Decided the Traverser motor driver as it is because the wiring is too complecated for the mass production, but we need only 3 Traverser motor drivers.

    • Requirement of the residual RMS velocity for PR mirrors is 6.1 um/sec: slide

    • Fujii wrote the assembly procedure of IP, and checked the equations about the legs, which is necessary for the design.
