  * Two ideas for improvement
   * Making the long rods shorter
   * For the disassembly, fix the mirror in the RM first, then open it and move the mirror to the mirror box.
  * Status of consideration (Shoda, Takahashi, Hirata)
  * Modifications to the mirror box and the RM base (Shoda)
   * Shorter rod (38mm shorter)
   * Fixing the two slides together
   * Add pulling screws to the base of the RM
   * Fix the RM to the base using screws
   * Basic ideas seem good
   * '''Shoda and Hirata will make more concrete design so that the modification can be ready before the PR3 test hanging'''

  * Disassembly
   * We need to be prepared for accidents like the mirror wires break and the mirror being trapped in the RM
    * In this situation, we need to have a safe method to remove the mirror from the RM: we need to develop such a procedure and necessary tools
    * The same procedure can be used for the disassembly of healthy suspension as well.
    * We will continue to consider what kind of tools/jigs are necessary for this.
    * For the moment, the priority is on the design of the assembly jigs

Progress report

Schedule Chart (PDF,MPP) To Be Updated

Type-A (Takahashi)

  • Minutes of Type-A Meeting

  • Installation: Transportation of Type-A items was divided. The first transportation is scheduled on 7-9th December. The second one is scheduled in early January.
    • We are asking to modify the piston system for the corn bellows to the company.
  • Pre-isolator: Two sets will be shipped on 1st December.
    • The PIs for SR were transported on 21st from Akeno.
  • EQ stop, release sensor, dummy payload: Some parts have been delivered to Kamioka. The parts remained will be delivered on 12th December.
  • BF damper: The production is on going.
  • Maraging wire: Asking UT ordering them. One set for the first Type-A system can be delivered by 20th January.
  • Tooling for installation: Still asking some companies a quotation of the hoist tool.
  • Will update the schedule for December and January today (Takahashi)

Type B (Mark)

  • Type B Past Week Summary
    • Mark (with Enzo) did initial TFs on the BF.
      • Did fixed-sine TFs on individual OSEMs at low frequency to check actuator polarity (klog 2176 and 2182).

      • Set gains in the COILOUTF block to compensate for actuator polarity.
    • Mark (with Enzo) did a free-swing measurement on the BS after earthquake of 11/22 (klog 2182).

      • Results suspicious (noted by Shoda-san): too much difference between OSEMs - horizontal showing much less motion than vertical.
      • Possible rubbing in horizontal.
      • May need a trip to Kamioka.
    • Mark (with Enzo) made corrections and improvements to many of the MEDM screens (klog 2176 and 2182).

      • Main overview screen was not generic in many places, and links to GDS_TP screens were broken.
      • ADC monitor screen referenced bad channels with LIGO-style names.
      • DAC monitor screen was not generic and did not support IM OSEMs.
      • Watchdog IM OSEM AC band limit filter screen was a copy of the TM one.
      • Watchdog TM OSEM AC band limit filter screen appears to be getting OL signals as input - needs model changes to fix.
      • The zoomed screens for IM OSEM centering were called incorrectly and did not work.
      • Various screens had LIGO-style channel names as labels.
    • Mark did a draft of D1603600-v12, including:
      • New assignment of IM OSEMs to DAQ channels (#4-9 are now V1, V2, V3, H1, H2, H3 rather than H1, H2, ...) from last Friday (the wiring was changed to reflect the model so as to remain consistent with PRx).
      • Information on how to identify the wires from the steppers and LVDTs so that the adapter cables can be plugged in properly.
    • Mark worked on schedule.
    • Hirata-san did drawings for new 8-mm maraging wires for Type A.
    • Hirata-san worked on PR/SR mirror box modifications with Shoda-san.
    • Update the schedule for the next 2 months immediately (Mark)

    • BS handling tool: find pictures/drawings of the iLIGO tool (Mark)

Type-Bp (Shoda)

  • Type-Bp Test Hanging Schedule
    • The assembly lecture was held on Thursday.
    • Flag removing jig is almost ready. The removing will be done in Dec. 1st.
    • Stab flags and wire breakers will be deriverd at around Dec. 14th-16th. The hanging will start from the week of 19th.
      • Update the schedule with this delay included (Shoda)

    • Okutomi-kun can join us for the mirror hanging as another expert.
  • Mirror box modification
    • pictures

IMMT (Ohishi)

  • Most of the parts necessary for modification, 2D/3D drawings, cleaning, assembly, manpower for hanging and installation ordered.
  • Hanging and installation: scheduled 4th-6th and 10-12th January 2017.
  • Some small parts have not been ordered yet (safety stop, Pico-motor holder, coil holders).
  • Hanging jig: some missing parts will be ordered.
  • Magnet fixture jig: have not ordered yet.

Watchdog system (Tanaka)

  • Preparing for an experiment to test the heat design.

Safety

  • Incidents: no
  • Foreseen risks: make sure to unplug everything before the blackout.

Discussion

  • PR3 accident: future actions
    • Modifications to the mirror box and the RM base (Shoda)
      • Shorter rod (38mm shorter)
      • Fixing the two slides together
      • Add pulling screws to the base of the RM
      • Fix the RM to the base using screws
      • Basic ideas seem good
      • Shoda and Hirata will make more concrete design so that the modification can be ready before the PR3 test hanging

    • Disassembly
      • We need to be prepared for accidents like the mirror wires break and the mirror being trapped in the RM
        • In this situation, we need to have a safe method to remove the mirror from the RM: we need to develop such a procedure and necessary tools
        • The same procedure can be used for the disassembly of healthy suspension as well.
