Agenda/Minutes of the VIS Meeting on 2017/2/24

2017/2/24 13:30 -

Participants: Mark, Fabian, Aso, Enzo, Akutsu, Sato, Hirata, Ishizaki, Takahashi, Shoda, Tanaka, Ohishi, Raffaele, Fujii

Progress report

Schedule Chart : (PDF,MPP)

  • Type-A: 1.5 week delay
  • Type-B: 2.5 week delay
  • Type-Bp: On schedule

Type-A (Takahashi)

Installation in Y-end:

21th(Tue)

  • Adjusted the height of release sensor for the dummy payload.
  • Adjusted the position of keystone stopper on BF.
  • Made the cables for LVDT and picomotor.

22th(Wed)

  • Completed cabling around the BF.
  • Closed the shell of BF.
  • Started preparation for the footholds.

23th(Thu)

  • Lifted down the EQ stop into the chamber and put the end plate for BF on the frame rock.
  • Set the footholds around the top chamber.
  • Extended the rods of EQ stop to the F3 stage.
  • Assembled the end plate for F3 and put it on the rods.
  • Prepared the F3 (cabling).

24th(Fri)

  • Set the support bar for the EQ stop from the foothold.
  • Checked the stepping motor of F3.
  • The cap for F3 could not be closed.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Put the F3 onto the end plate.
  • Tune the F3.
  • Adjust the height of BF and F3.
  • Assemble the BF damper.

Type B (Mark)

Past week report

At Kamioka (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san):

  • We improvised a solution for ballast mass on the BF, using some heavy dog clamps meant for pedestals, washed and wrapped in foil. We we use them for the duration of the BS Test Hang and then swap them out for custom masses.
  • We put back the original BF jacks (replacing the cantilevered jacks that had been borrowed from the SF level to allow access to the BF blade screws).
  • We rearranged the BS rack, closing the gaps between boxes (per request of Miyakawa-san. We also renumbered some boxes, connectors and cables so as to use zero-based numbering (#0, #1, #2,...) throughout.
  • We routed the OSEM cables into the external cable rack (rather than through the PR2 area).
  • We connected up the BF LVDT, and BF fishing rod stepper motor.
  • We installed a signal generator for the LVDT.
  • We connected the super motor driver box to the Internet and attempted to set it up, but with no success so far.
  • We found the final picomotor driver (we have been using the one from TAMA in the clean booth).
  • We found many items that we will need soon, including the copper ring for the SF.
  • We found issues with the digital system (the computer driving the rack had been changed from k1pr2 to k1bs, which causes problems) and worked with DGS to fix them. It now mostly works but the real-time model crashes from time to time.

Plan for coming weeks

Next week:

  • Everyone (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san) at Kamioka, Monday-Thursday.
  • Work on electronics, possibly suspend and weigh BF.

Week after next:

  • Everyone (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san) at Kamioka, Monday-Friday.
  • Add SF and suspend BF.

Discussion

  • Check LVDT signals using oscilloscopes
  • Ask Shoda-san how to drive the stepper motors

Type-Bp (Shoda)

Past week report

  • Suspend BF and tuned the mass. Some of the masses are put inside the BF. The rest of the weight will be put on the cap after cabling.
  • Replaced the interface plate
  • Tried to replace the parts for Traversers. But they did not work well. Therefore, Uraguchi-san took them back to Mitaka again.
  • Cabling: some tools are bad for our cables and pins. Bad access around the SF.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Suspend everything, and test the damping control.

To Do

  • Design the modification for the Optical bench installation jigs.
  • Design the jig for the magnetic damper.

IMMT (Ohishi)

Past week report

Plan for coming weeks

Watchdog system (Tanaka)

Past week report

  • I'm working on design drawing for cutting of 19'rack front panel(4ch WDS Main box).
    • Drawing both for external ordering and for CNC Milling machine(Numerical control program(G-code)).
  • Electronic parts ordered from co-op(Univ.Tokyo) have not come yet.

Plan for coming weeks

  • •Pending ---> I'm planning to perform surface mounting for Power board(WDS Main 4ch Box) in reflow furnace in Akihabara.Since a large PCB size( 320mm * 100mm) is required,a large reflow furnace is necessary,so it can be borrowed in Akihabara(DMM-make site. And of course, paid).

Safety

  • Incidents:
    • Y-arm T3 got a flat tire: don't answer a phone call while driving
    • An eye bolt rotated with turn buckle: don't move a turn buckle when it is loaded.
    • The lease car skidded on the way to Kamioka: drive slowly
  • Foreseen risks
    • Type-A: Crane works
    • Type-B: Crane works
    • Type-Bp: No heavy lifting foreseen

Discussion

Type-B ballast masses (Fabian)

  • Do not divide the ballast masses inside the filter.
  • Adjust the balance only with the masses on top of the filter
  • Fabian will design BS BF/SF ballast masses by mid-March
  • SR ballast masses need to be designed with the same principle
