Progress report

Schedule Chart : (PDF,MPP)

• Type-A: Delay in the Y-End test. By reducing the scope, the test will finish in time. X-End = on schedule
• Type-B: Remove the suspension from the chamber in the week of 7/10
• Type-Bp: Mirror gluing problem is causing a lot of delay (3 weeks)

Type-A (Takahashi)

Past week report

• Set the footholds.
• Set the hoist tool.
• Assembled the protection net and installed.
• Covered the IP base.
• Washed a hand lifter and pallets.

[Y-end]

26th(Mon)

• Cabling to the feedthroughs.

27th(Tue)

• Cabling to the feedthroughs.
• Checked cable connection.
• Mounted the ACCs on the TF.

28th(Wed)

• Mounted the ACCs on the TF.
• Tuned the IP again. Some ballasts were removed.
• Made the cables for ACC driver.

29th(Thu)

• Checked the ACCs with the driver.

Plan for coming weeks

• Setting of the ACCs.
• Setting of the BF damper.
• Measuring of transfer functions.
• Start the pre-assembly of BF damper in X-end.

Type B (Mark)

Past week report

At Kamioka (Mark, Enzo, Simon, Type Bp team):

• Mark remade the BF pico adapter cable which was poorly made and had also been damaged.
• The Type Bp team tided up the BS rack and made new labels for many cables (thanks!).
• Enzo connected up the in-air cables for the picos and steppers.
• Mark and Enzo renumbered the PI LVDTs, geophones and LVDTs to make a consistent scheme working anticlockwise.
• Enzo and Mark debugged all the cables. The only problem we couldn't solve was that the actuator coil for PI LVDT #0 is open-circuit at the connector on the LVDT. (It has been intermittent but worked before the craning.) We may have to redo the connector or replace the LVDT. Limited TFs will be possible in the next week.
• Simon set up the LSOL and was easily able to get a return beam from the mirror on the dummy BS.
• Shoda-san copied over the LSOL section of the PR3 real-time model into the BS model and made other improvements (thanks!).
• Mark brought home

At Mitaka (Fabian, Hirata-san):

• Fabian finished designing final trim masses for IM/BF/SF for the final hang of the BS and passed it to Hirata-san to make drawings and get quotes.
• Hirata-san requested quotes for the replaceable-jaw version of the BS wire clamps.
• Fabian and Hirata-san gathered needed items for the BS prism/flag gluing.
• Hirata-san designed receptacles for the new rods with 8 mm heads and requested quotes.==== Plan for coming weeks ====

Plan for week of 7/3

• Do prism/flag gluing on real BS at Kashiwa (whole team).
• Do new 3D CAD (Hirata-san):
  • SR2 on BS assembly frame. (Adjust jack positions if possible, or leave for Fabian/Mark to do.)
  • Final BS build, SS/PI/SF as for Test Hang but with BF/IRM/IM/BS/RM down rotated back to original direction.
    • On-assembly-frame version. (Adjust jack positions if possible, or leave for Mark to do.)
    • In-tank version.
• Solve arc weight versus magic wand problem.
• Do mass budget for LBB - design ballast masses (Fabian)
• Run TFs, make improvements to real-time model (Mark, Enzo).

Plan for week of 7/10

Mark and Enzo at Kamioka:

• Fix broken LVDT actuator coil.
• Learn how Miyo-kun's pico driver software works and make improvements.
• Test picos and steppers more fully.
• Finish tidying rack and labeling cables.

Fabian and Hirata-san at Mitaka.

• Design SR assembly frame.
• Inventory for SR.

Type-Bp (Shoda)

Past week report

• Still having trouble with gluing.

  • We aligned the WB also in tilt so that the WB and the mark on the side is parallel by eyes. -> Failed

  • Scratched more. -> Failed

  • Now it is glued with the old EP30-2 and being cured.
  • Asked Hirose-san to send us the other mirror box. It should be delivered on Monday lunch time.
• BIO medm screen for coil drivers is prepared.
• BF GAS LVDT is calibrated.
• Cables in BS rack was arranged. Removed un-used cables.

IMMT (Ohishi)

Past week report

• Assembled IMMT magnet fixture jig at ICRR Kashiwa.
• Hirose-san pointed out that the designed position of the magnet (2mm from the rim) is not good
  • because the vebel of the mirror is not negligible.
• Decided to change the magnet position to 4mm from the rim and did additional machining.

Plan for coming weeks

• Assemble magnet fixture jig in Kamioka and send it to Kashiwa when the BS gluing has done.

Watchdog system (Tanaka)

Past week report

• Examination of experimental preamplifier circuit fabrication. -->

  • Estimate --> completed. --> Return to the start.

    • Because there is a point that the estimate price of the co-op(Univ.Tokyo) is high,and other estimates are taken.

• Examination of experimental preamplifier circuit fabrication. -->

  • In order to adjust the measurement environment to the site on the report,the result measured using the laptop computer was added.The noise level slightly decreases in the measurement result.As aresult,it was confirmed that there was no problem.

Plan for coming weeks

• Creation of extended I/O PCB(plot type (With the Main 4ch WDS box and I/O box,I/O board For relay).-->

  • Estimate --> Ongoing.

• Adjustment of experiment schedule etc. in the KAGRA side start. --> Ongoing.

Other site works

• 7/10-?: Lighting installation in the MCE and SR clean booths

  • Type-A: Crane work for closing the chamber.
  • Type-B: Handling a heavy and expensive mirror

Discussion

Type-A

• How to make new wire (3.2m) for the cryo-payload

  • Plan 1: 3.3m (#323) → 1.0m + 2.2m with M6 screw, connected by M6 long nut -> discarded

  • Plan 2: 2.4m(#322) + 0.8m(new), connected by junction box -> We will go along with this line

  • Schedule: we need the wires by early September
  • Action items
    • Check if 2.4m rod can be installed from the cryostat: (Takahashi)
    • Design the junction box and the short rod: Hirata
    • Check the availability of Obuchi-san for stress analysis: Takahashi, Akutsu

Type-B

• Try to fix the LVDT in the next week. Take TFs.
• Remove the suspension from the chamber in the week of 7/10
• BS spare wire clamps
  • 0.005mm tolerance is too tight and it is not in the original design of PROMECH.
  • 0.05mm should be fine.
  • Hirata-san will talk with I-Ject about this and see if cost reduction is possible or not.
