Type-A (Takahashi)

Past week report

19th(Tue)

  • Tuned the F1. The frequency was 0.4Hz.

20th(Wed)

  • Lifted down the F2 stage into the corrugate tube.
  • Adjusted the FR in the F1.
  • Installed the bridge frame and the pre-isolator into the clean booth.
  • Extended the EQ stop to the top plate.
  • Mounted the bridge frame on the foothold.

21st(Thu)

  • Put the pre-isolator on the bridge frame.
  • Inserted the maraging wire between the F1 and the TF.
  • Tuned the load for TF roughly.
  • Hung the F1 damper.
  • Dismounted the pre-isolaotr.

22nd(Fri)

  • Started the cabling from F1 to the top plate.

  • Assembled the geophone pod.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Install the pre-isolaotr into the chamber.
  • Tune the IP.

Type B (Mark)

Past week report

At Kamioka (Mark, Ohishi-san, Fabian, Enzo, Hirata-san, Yoshioka-kun, Kozu-kun):

  • We put lock nuts on the F0 FR and calibrated the F0 LVDT against FR position and keystone height.
  • Enzo traced the issue with the geophones to a specific cable.
  • We measured the BF and F0 GAS resonant frequencies.
  • We adjusted the spacing of the SR damper.
  • We double-checked the BS pitch with the OL.
  • We debugged the PI yaw mechanism. We managed to get the return spring properly adjusted, but the stepper motor tends to jam because of the strange design.
  • We prepared the suspension for lifting and craned it into the tank.

  • Hirata-san fixed an issue with one of the nailheads on the LBB intermediate ring support rods not properly seating, by removing the rod and reinstalling it upside down (with the problem nailhead in a less critical position).
  • Enzo and team moved all the in-air cables from the assembly frame to the tank.
  • Fabian and Ohishi-san unlocked the bottom section of the suspension and got it hanging freely.

Plan for week of 9/25

  • Finish moving in-air cabling and feedthroughs and reconnect in-vacuum cables (through Cu O-rings).
  • Unlock rest of suspension and readjust.
  • Debug electronics.
  • Unclamp LBB ring "sandwich" so LBB Cu ring is suspended on upper rods.
  • Install LBB lower rods and hook LBB.
  • Adjust LBB damper Cu-magnet gap.
  • Measure required ballast for LBB.
  • Remove First Contact, try OL.
  • Prepare for SR2 work.

Type-Bp (Shoda)

Past week report

  • PRM installed
    • The suspension was installed.
    • But we found that the tank cannot be placed at the +y side of the PRM, since the space inside the clean booth was so tight. The tank was moved to the -y side using the fork lift and crane thanks to Kimura-san, Sawada-san, and Endo-san.
    • Cabling was almost done, but not yet checked.
    • Pylons for oplevs are installed. But no view port, nor oplev setup.

Plan for coming weeks

  • No site work in the week of Sep. 25th
  • In the week of Nov. 2nd:
    • Cabling check
    • Remove all the FC for the interferometer alignment, which will start from Nov. 10th.
    • Oplev setup, including viewport.
    • Suspension release and status check.
    • PR2 BF GAS status check. Turning on PR2 damping.

  • Waiting for concrete information on installation location.The type(High power,Low power)and number actually needed,and the peripheral equipment accompanying it.-->Waiting for information provision.

  • I held a meeting to make estimates with several vendors.-->Price negotiation failed.Because the assumed price is too low(The estimate of the manufacturing cost of the chassis was higher than expected).

    • (Current assumed price about 900,000 yen -->Vendor's quotation price about 2,000,000 yen)

  • Creating the final version for mass production and running its operation test.-->Implementation is complete and completion of the initial operation test.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Execution of the final version operation test for mass production ->Start of detailed exam.

  • Creation of extended I/O PCB plot type (With the Main 4ch WDS box and I/O box,I/O board For relay).-->Ongoing(Start of mechanical design).


Other site works

  • Regular inspection of the forklift: Sept. 26 (Tue) 11:30~12:30
  • BS duct connection: Oct 2 - 6
  • End of Aug. to Nov.: Mozumi entrance will be closed
