==== From abroad to Tokyo or Osaka ====
You will arrive at Narita International Airport (NRT, [[http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/index.html|English]]) or Kansai International Airport (KIX, [[http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/index.asp|English]]). If you choose Narita (Tokyo), you will go to Toyama by train or airplane. If Kansai (Osaka), you will go to Toyama by train.

 * After you arrive at Narita (Tokyo),
  * if you adopt train for Toyama, you are going to center of Tokyo. There are two stations in Narita airport (Narita Airport station (Terminal 1) and Airport terminal 2 station). At both the stations, you can take Narita Express (JR line, about 1 hour (3020Yen) to Tokyo station,[[http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/nex/index.html|English]]) or Skyliner (Keisei-line, about 40 minutes (2470 Yen) to Keisei Ueno station which is near JR Ueno station, [[http://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetudou/skyliner/us/|English]])
  * if you adopt airplane for Toyama, you are going to Haneda airport (unfortunately, there is NO DIRECT flight between Narita and Toyama). The easiest way is that you take Access Express (Keisei-line, [[http://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetudou/skyliner/us/|English]]) at Narita Airport station (Terminal 1) or Airport terminal 2 station. It takes 1.5 hours (1800Yen) to Haneda Airport and you do NOT NEED to transfer. It must be noticed that, again, there are two stations in Haneda airport (International terminal and Domestic terminal). You will get off the train at Domestic terminal (terminal station of railway).

 * After you arrive at Kansai (Osaka),
  * You are going to center of Osaka by train. It takes 65 minutes to Osaka station (JR Kansei Airport Rapid Service, 1190Yen, [[http://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/|English]]), 50 minutes to Shin-Osaka station (JR Airport Express Haruka, 2850Yen, [[http://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/|English]]), 34 minutes to Namba station (Nankai Rapi:t alpha, 1430Yen, [[http://www.howto-osaka.com.e.iv.hp.transer.com/top/railway/kansai-airport/|English]]).

==== From Tokyo to Toyama ====
 * By train: You take Joetsu Shinkansen at JR Tokyo or JR Ueno station. At Echigoyuzawa, you transfer to Special Express Hakutaka. It arrives at Toyama station. In total, it takes about 3.5 hours (11030Yen).

 * By air plane: Only ANA ([[http://www.ana.co.jp/asw/index.jsp?type=de|English]]) manages the flight between Haneda (Tokyo) and Toyama　(about 1 hour). ==== From Toyama station to University of Toyama ====
 * By tram: You take tram (2line) for "Daigakumae (In front of University of Toyama)" and get off at "Daigakumae". Tram depart every about 10 minute. It takes about 20 minutes from Toyama station. [[http://www.chitetsu.co.jp/?page_id=656|Details in Japanese]]

 * By bus: You take the bus at the 3rd stop in front of Toyama station. You get off at "Toyama Daigaku mae (In front of University of Toyama)". Bus departs every about 20 minutes.
