Scope

  • The Beam Profilers for large beams is to be used to check the beam mode (power spacial distribution) during the commissioning phase of the intereferometer.

Current Status

General Description

  • The mode matching is one of the important step to operate an optical cavity, and thus a beam profiler can help the commissioning phase.
  • For KAGRA, the beam size will become about 100 mm diameter.
  • There seems no commercial products that is able to measure such a large beam size so far, and we will develop such a tool.

Functions

  • Measuring a spatial distribution of intensities of a laser beam for 300 mm diameter.
  • Visualizing the measured data on site and remote in real time (live view).
  • Offering any other functions that are usually equipped in commercial beam profilers. (Fit-function of the measured data with Gaussian profile, Functions of statistical processing, Functions of exporting the measured data)

Locations

  • Anywhere in the initial alignment phase.
