Scope

The scope of Beam Profilers for large beams is to check the beam mode during the phase of initial alignment of optics.

General Description

The mode matching is one of the important step to operate an optical cavity. For KAGRA, the beam size will become about 100 mm diameter. There seems no commercial products that is able to measure such a large beam size so far, and we will develop such a tool.

Functions

  • Measuring a spatial distribution of intensities of a laser beam for 300 mm diameter.
  • Visualizing the measured data on site and remote in real time (live view).
  • Offering any other functions that are usually equipped in commercial beam profilers. (Fit-function of the measured data with Gaussian profile, Functions of statistical processing, Functions of exporting the measured data)

Locations

Anywhere in the initial alignment phase.
