You cannot take bus due to constraction, so we recommend you to take express train. Narita Express

How to get to Toyama

KAGRA site is in Kamioka, but the nearest large city is Toyama where you are likely to stay. To get to Toyama station from Tokyo station, take a bullet train (Hokuriku Shinkansen). JR East.

How to get to KAGRA office

From Toyama to KAGRA office, we recommend to rent a car. It is about 1 hour drive from Toyama station to KAGRA office.NIPPON RENT-A-CAR

  • Please make a reservation on their website or call +81-3-6859-6234 before you come to Japan. They said It is not possible to accept reservations at the store. Also I recommend you to select studless tires in case of snow. For 'Pick up location' and 'Return location' on NIPPON RENT-A-CAR website, please write 'Toyama Station North Exit'. and for options, it seems like you cannot choose studless tire(Snow tire), so please tell Sakamoto your reservation number after you reserve.
