重力波研究交流会とは？

• 学会や研究会でお会いする方々と「より頻繁に互いの研究を発表しあう場があったら」とお話することが多くなりました。そこで月例の重力波研究交流会を開催することにしました。 この研究交流会は、基本的に毎月いずれかの金曜日に東大本郷・国立天文台三鷹・東大柏キャンパス・東工大などで開催し、2つほど講演をしていただくというものです。また、これらの会場をTV会議で接続し、また国内外の研究者ともインターネット会議を使用して音声接続することで、このような技術を日常的に使いこなす契機とすることも目論んでいます。発表者は学生の方々をはじめとして、どなたでも構いません。内容としては重力波にかかわるサイエンスやテクノロジーについてですが、なるべく縛りを少なくし、自由な議論をしていただけるようにと心がけています。皆様の参加を期待しています。

  • プレゼンテーションは事前にネットワーク上に準備することとします。
  • 各種アナウンスは宇宙線研究所の gw_comm メーリングリストを通じて行いますが、比較的新しい学生さん等はメーリングリストから漏れている方もおられます。各機関で連絡が届かないような方には、適宜転送して頂ければ幸いです。また、世話人にご連絡頂ければ、メールが届くように手配致します。

What is gravitational wave research exchange meeting?

• We started hearing often some of us saying "we need more frequent occasions for presenting our research activities" during some conferences and seminars. So we began this monthly meeting: the GW research exchange meeting. The meeting takes place on one of the Fridays in each month and is hosted/organized by Institutes or Universities such as the Kashiwa or Hongo campus of the University of Tokyo, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, Tokyo Institute of Technology and so forth. In addition, the seminar aims at familiarizing ourself with the remote conference systems which can connect researchers not only in Japan but also oversea. The speakers can be anyone including students and researchers at any rank. The primary focus of the talks should be on gravitational wave science and associated technologies, but we do not limit the range of the topics. In this way, we promote unfettered discussions. We are looking forward to seeing many of us participating this seminar series.

  • The presentation materials are uploaded before the talk.
  • The announcements are given through the "gw_comm" mailing list. There can be some students who are new to this field and haven't subscribed to this mailing list. If you find such persons, please let us know so that we can add him or her to the mailing list.
