KAGRA collaboration MOU
- EO decided to collect "KAGRA collaboration MoU" with each group of the collaboration, in order to confirm the relationship officially between a group and KAGRA, and to proceed to the next responsible contributions including observation shift and future development of the projects. This procedure is supposed to be once. [On April 18, EO decided to change the document name to "memorandum of understanding (MoU)", rather than "Agreement", in order to clarify that the document does not intend to make a restriction with penalties. ]
The sample format (now version 3) is now updated at JGWdoc-M1909818.
- The draft includes the statement (in section 4-2); "KAGRA will support the local expenses of the members of Group A within limits of the the available budget under the ICRR Inter-University Research program." If your group does not submit this form, then your group members may miss to receive this support.
- In order to plan our O3 observation shift at the KAGRA site, we also collect the list of shift candidates from the group representatives.
- We suppose all collaborators understand the importance for participating the observation shift.
- The new version also have changed the expression of the "Effective Period" (section 6): "This MoU will remain effective for the duration of the project and can be automatically extended or modified as long as Group A and KAGRA agree."
- We ask all group representatives to follow the procedures:
Check out the "Agreement" draft (attached in this mail) at JGWdoc-M1909818.
- Also prepare the list of the shift candidates (attached in this mail) in Excel file format.
Visit the registration page https://gwcenter.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/collaboration-agreement and tell us who will make a signature, together with the list of shift candidates.
- EO will prepare the "MoU draft" for each group, and will have a sign-up process at the face-to-face meeting in April (at ICRR Kashiwa, April 19-21) or at the face-to-face meeting in August (at Toyama U, maybe August 22-24), by exchanging digital signatures, or by exchanging surface mails.
- At this moment, we do not make a clear definition of each group, so that please think flexibly. One university/institute can prepare one agreement (even there is one person), or a couple universities (like a country, region, whatever) can prepare one agreement.
- List of registered groups (27 groups, as of Apr 5, 2019; shift list 181 persons)
