IFO Operation Manual

Take logbook if

• PSL PMC looses lock
• IMC does not lock even if PSL PMC is locking
• IMC keeps locking and unlocking for more than an hour
• Main interferometer does not lock even if IMC is locked
• Main interferometer does not lock for more than 20 mins
• Each mirror’s oplev feedback signals go more than 6000 cts.

CHECK LIST

• Record K1:PSL-PMC_TRANS_DC_OUTPUT.
  • If it is ~6, OK.
  • If not, ask Miyakawa, Kawamura, or Enomoto to manually lock PMC.
• Check the state of IMC_LOCK guardian.
  • If it is IMC_LOCKED, OK. Record K1:IMC-MCL_TRANS_OUTPUT.
    • If it is ~0.4, OK.
    • If not, check IMC alignment.
  • If not, check IMC alignment.

• Record IMC oplev values below. Check if they are drifting or not.

   K1:VIS-MCE_TM_OPLEV_PIT_OUTPUT
   K1:VIS-MCE_TM_OPLEV_YAW_OUTPUT
   K1:VIS-MCI_TM_OPLEV_PIT_OUTPUT
   K1:VIS-MCI_TM_OPLEV_YAW_OUTPUT
   K1:VIS-MCO_TM_OPLEV_PIT_OUTPUT
   K1:VIS-MCO_TM_OPLEV_YAW_OUTPUT

• Check the state of MICH_LOCK guardian.
  • If it is OPERATION, OK. Check if K1:LSC-REFL_PDA1_DC_OUTPUT is fluctuating or not.
    • If it is kind of constant, OK.

    • If not, check Michelson alignment (see JGW-T1605027 for alignment procedure).

  • If not, check Michelson alignment (see JGW-T1605027 for alignment procedure).

• Record oplev values for Michelson mirrors. Check if they are drifting or not.

General

• Type "mk" on terminal and you will open a "sitemap" screen

PSL (no PSL remote control in March)

Lock PMC

• Open the "PSL PMC" medm screen from sitemap

• Open StripTool /users/striptool/pmc.stp (link is put on the PMC screen)

• Find PMC_TRANS Camera
• Open the Guardian screen (link on the PMC screen)

• 1. Request "PSL_LOCKED"
• 2. Execute (Choose "EXEC")

• Make sure that PMC is locked with the StripTool, PMC_TRANS camera, and the Guardian. If K1:PSL-PMC_TRANS_DC_OUTPUT ~ 6, PMC is locked. If K1:PSL-PMC_TRANS_DC_OUTPUT ~ 0, unlocked.

IMC

Lock IMC

• Check MCI, MCO and MCE (link to VIS page. DC alignment values, Watchdog, Dackill)
• Open IMC medm from sitemap

• Open StripTools and Guardian from IMC medm

• The usage of the IMC Guardian is almost same as one of PMC. Request "IMC_LOCKED" and execute.
• NOTE: If PMC is unlocked, you will see a message "PSL_is_unlocked!" in USERMSG line in the IMC Guardian. When you see it, check if PMC is locked or not

• Open StripTool /users/stiptool/IMC.stp

• Find MCE_TRANS camera

• Make sure IMC is locked with the StripTool, MCE_TRANS camera, and the Guardian. If K1:IMC-MCL_TRANS_OUTPUT ~ 0.40 - 0.46 , IMC is locked. If K1:IMC-MCL_TRANS_OUTPUT ~ 0.020, unlocked.

Main IFO

Lock Michelson IFO

• Open /users/striptool/REFLPD_RMS.stp. You can see REFL PDA1

• Control panel for MICH length-sensing control (LSC) is sitemap => LSC => iKAGRA LSC

• make sure MICH_LOCK Guardian showing "operation"

Check VIS

• Check PR3, BS, IX and IY (link to VIS page)

Lock Michelson IFO

• Establish the lock procedure
• Prepare Guardian and put the manual here

• Prepare StripTool (list of check channels)

Check DAQ

• MonitCheck Check if all the DAQ system is working properly

• DaqCheck1 Check if the real time models are sending data to DAQ

• DaqCheck2 Check if the GW channel is properly recorded in the frames

• Check Detchar screen?
• Check glitch rate (prepare a script?)
• Check noise lines (prepare a script?)
