Overview

GigE cameras work on the network. The network is dedicated to cameras, under the CDS network. The main software is developed by Joe Betzwiser in LIGO. There are camera machines to handle the data flow and simple analysis. Each camera is managed by one of the camera machines.

How to Use

To show the display, open sitemap on any workstations (click medm icon on the desktop), and choose camera.

To manage a camera the server on k1cam0

ssh to the machine which runs the machine you want to manage. 

ssh k1cam0

or 

ssh k1cam1

Following are the ways to enable/disable/start/stop cameras. camera-servise list will show the camera list run on the machine you are logged in. 

/kagra/camera/camera-servise list
/kagra/camera/camera-servise enable CAMNAME
/kagra/camera/camera-servise start CAMNAME
/kagra/camera/camera-servise stop CAMNAME
/kagra/camera/camera-servise disable CAMNAME

where CAMNAME can be something like EY.

Camera configuration files are also in /kagra/camera/. If you change the configuration, you have to stop and restart the camera by the above commands.

You can record the movies from MEDM screen.

Network Switches

There is the main switch in the main digital room. All the other switches are connected to the main switch with cat 6 LAN cables. Switches in EX and EY are connected to the main switch via optical fibers.
