When Dolphin connection must be disabled?
- Before front-end computer is rebooted
by executing reboot command
by executing shutdown -r command
Before front-end computer is shut down (See also How should we boot up)
by executing shutdown -h command
- by shutting down from the Web interface
- by pressing a power button

- It is better to avoid disabling, if Dolphin connection is already disabled.
How to check Dolphin connection is enabled or disabled?
Open MEDM screen: [sitemap] -> [CDS] -> [Dolphin]
Press button labelled "dxadmin"
- Enter password
Press "connect"
Press "OK"
*** How to see Dolphin manager interface ***
- Green = enabled
- Red = disabled
- Gray out = disabled
How to disable Dolphin connection?
Open MEDM screen: [sitemap] -> [CDS] -> [Dolphin]
- Press button labelled front-end computer name
- Enter password
Wait until displaying the message as "disabled"
How should we boot up?
- Disconnect Dolphin cable from the front-end computer
- Boot up (press power button) the computer
- Connect Dolphin cable just after starting PXE boot process
How should we restore when the Dolphin glitch occurs?
Contact DGS folks first
- Reboot the front-end computer,
- if Dolphin connection is already disabled.
- Restart the model,
if FE indicator turns red
- Kill slave models, restart the IOP model, and start slave models,
if DAC indicator turns red on the IOP model.
