- Q measurement of fundamental drum mode of ETMX done on Nov 3rd
- 2.1 x 10^5 which is 1-2 order of magnitude smaller than expected
- Q value could be limited by suspension dissipation
- even if lower than expected should not impact on the system thermal noise
- Update from ARD: activity proceeding faster than expected, a small chip on barrel was discovered and will be investigated
- Report from KASI:
- small sample delivery expected in few days
- zygo interferometer tests ongoing, problem with polarization
- introduction of new characterization techniques for birefringence measurement by Marc (will be presented at FWG meeting on Nov 17th)
