Progress report

Schedule Chart (PDF,MPP)

Type-A (Takahashi)

  • Minutes of Type-A Meeting

  • Pre-isolator: IPs and TFs were transported from Akeno to Mitaka on 3rd. One set of IP and TF were brought in the clean room.
    • Top filter was found damaged: a screw came out apparently from the vibration during the transportation.
    • We don't know when this happened. We will check the screws before transporting the remaining TFs from Akeno to Mitaka.
    • Spare parts to fix the broken part are available.
  • EQ stop, release sensor, dummy payload: Production is on going.
  • Bottom Filter: Assembly of the second BF is on going. SUS bearings were ordered.
  • BF damper: Asking a quotation to a company. The test report of LVDT prototype was uploaded (report).

  • Maraging wire: We concluded that the load to the maraging wires during crane operation is small enough to keep less than 2G.

Type B (Mark)

  • Type B Past Week Summary
    • Fabian, Mark and Liu-kun did BS installation at Kamioka:
      • Connected the DIO card to the LPCD. (Simulink model changes will be needed to make use of it.)
      • Took TF data from the TM-H1 coil output to the voltage and current monitors and found that the response was approximately flat, meaning that meaningful TFs can be taken of the RM/BS stage with no DIO.
      • Used the 90° prism and the optical lever to set the pitch of the RM to match the dummy BS.
      • Removed the RM trolley and added the bottom section of the security structure.
      • Lifted the IM/RM/BS with the load gauge adapter and load gauge and measured its mass.
    • Hirata-san:
      • Modified drawing of maraging rods for BS D1605706

      • Made 3D models of stub flag gluing jigs.
      • Made 3D models and 2D drawing of BS BF-IM hexagon cable clamp assembly and cone parts. D1605734

      • Washed parts and screws.
      • (For Type A) Assembled and adjusted blades of BF #9.
    • Mark checked lots of drawings by Hirata-san.
    • Mark worked on schedule but only succeeded in completely garbling the Type B section of the VIS schedule on the server.
  • Longer term to-do list
    • Do Inventor assembly for SRx in chamber and on assembly frame (Hirata) - SR2/SR3 DONE, SRM ongoing.
      • Part "disk security" top has to be modified - screw positions do not match.
    • Write more of payload assembly procedure (Fabian) - ONGOING
    • Write more of BS Assembly Procedure E1504235, E1504235 draft (Mark) - ONGOING

    • Lower breadboard installation to be incorporated into the procedure document.
    • Work on BS simulation (Fabian)
    • Do BS Simulink model (Mark, Kokeyama) - TM/IM/BF level DONE
    • Do 2D drawings of SR2 parts (Hirata)
    • Redesign SRx IM wire clamps for larger prisms, remachined RMs
    • Order SRM/PRM parts (Hirata/Shoda)
    • Order SRx fasteners (Hirata)

Type-Bp (Shoda)

  • Modification Parts
    • I asked the ICRR desk to make an announcement for the open estimation. The call for cost estimation is announced today.
    • The result will be open on the beggining of the November.
    • The delivery date of the whole the parts will be in January. But I asked the possible companies to give us 1 set earlier. (I heard that it would be possible within this year.)
  • Mirapro
    • Hirata-san updated the wire design and hook design. Some other parts only used for Type-Bp should be also updated.
    • How to order is under discussion.
  • BFRM wires
    • Takahashi-san will make an order soon.
  • Mirror preparasion
    • Discussion about the jigs for removing the current flags from the PR3 and spare mirrors are ongoing with Hirose-san. (No progress this week.)
  • Flags
    • Hirata-san made the models. Checked and ordered soon.

IMMT (Ohishi)

  • No progress this week.

Watchdog system (Tanaka)

  • Finished the schematic design. Start working on the PCB design.

Safety

  • No issue.

Discussion

  • Maraging and SUS rod issue follow up.
    • Type-B Maraging rods: design is ready. Will be ordered soon (Takahashi)
    • SUS rods: design is ready. Will be ordered with the PR assembly frame (Takahashi/Shoda)
    • Type-A Maraging rods
      • Installation procedure review concluded that the rods will not get tension above the static load during installation.
      • We employ the safety factor of 2 as requirement.
      • Takahashi will explain this and ask Obuchi-san to re-optimize the shape after the meeting.
        • Neck diameter can be increased to keep the safety margin
        • We want to keep the nail head diameter <= 8mm as much as possible.

        • Takahashi will ask Ojima whether 9mm nail head is possible or not just in case we need to increase the nail head size.
  • IM OSEM noise issue (Shoda)
    • Slides

    • We need to tune the filters for length and yaw to reduce the noise coupling.
