Progress report

Schedule Chart : (PDF,MPP)

• Type-A: On schedule
• Type-B: 1.5 weeks delay, but by re-arranging the works, there will be no net delay in the overall schedule.
• Type-Bp: 1 week ahead of schedule

Type-A (Takahashi)

Past week report

19th(Wed)

• Transported some items from Y-end to X-end.

20th(Thu)

• Preassembled the BF damper.
• Measured the weight of DP and BF.
• Replaced the receptacles in the BF.
• Replaced the blades for FR in the BF.
• Replaced the cable clamps on the BF
• Set the release sensors for the BF.

21st(Fri)

• Adjusted the rotation of frame lock.
• Hooked the short maraging wire to the BF. The DP was suspended from the BF.
• Tuned the BF roughly. The optimal frequency was about 0.5Hz. More compression is necessary.

[Y-end]

18th(Tue)

• Cabled from the cryo-payload to the BF.
• Closed the EYV chamber completely, The o-ring was replaced.

19th(Wed)

• Checked the cable connection. One cable was disconnected.
• Unplugged in-air cables from feedthroughs.
• Closed the cross tube completely.

20h(Thu)

• The brackets for the corrugate tube were replaced. Measured the height of the EYV chamber.

21st(Fri)

• Plugged in-air cables to feedthroughs.
• Started evacuation of the chamber.

Plan for coming weeks

• Monitering behavior of the Type-A tower in Y-end.
• Installation of the bottom filter in X-end.

Type B (Mark)

Past week report

At Kamioka (Mark, Enzo, Hirata-san, Yoshioka-kun):

• We lubricated the stuck screw at the top of the security structure with stuck and were able to remove it.
• Enzo disconnected and removed or coiled many in-vac cables at the PI level to free it.
• We craned the PI. There was a minor safety incident - see below.
• Hirata-san set up the filter service area, and we moved in a BF intended for one of the SRs (BF#3).
• Fabian and Hirata-san worked out a method for characterizing a single spring, and Fabian finished characterizing the first one.
• We did a big tidy-up and clean-up of the area, especially the corner where we intended to do the gluing.
• We set up the BS gluing jigs and applied the glue. We will check the results on Monday.

Plan for week of 7/24

Full team at Kamioka from Mon-Fri, except Hirata-san (Tue-Fri) and Enzo (vacation).

• Check results of gluing.
• Finish disassembly.
• Finish BF rebuild.
• Recheck alignment of assembly frame and centering of optical table.
• Install IM, suspend BS and RM.

Plan for week of 7/31

Full team at Kamioka from Mon-Fri, except Fabian (Mon-Thu) and Enzo (vacation).

• Remove LBB rings.
• Weigh/trim BS/RM/IM.
• Bring in rebuilt BF.

Type-Bp (Shoda)

Past week report

• IM TF measurement
  • IM TFs seem to be OK.
  • The coupling from IML to TMP could not be observed with Oplev with a good coherence. The coupling ration should be less than 10^-1 rad/m with a rough estimation. (Some parameters need to be checked.)
• All parts are assembled on the suspension.
  • BF/BFRM parts are assembled except that BF/IM/TM are not suspended from the SF.
  • Cabling is almost done.
  • Berndy male pins are running out.

• Suspend the BF and blow from the SF, and adjust the weight and the balance
• TF check
• Installation preparation
• Prepare for PRM Traverser shipping.

• Creation of extended I/O PCB(plot type (With the Main 4ch WDS box and I/O box,I/O board For relay).-->

• Order electronic parts -->No delivery(Coop Univ.Tokyo).

• Order PCB's(Ex-I/O Interface and relative PCB's) -->Delivery complete.

• Looking for board manufacturer(Manufacturer who makes PCB manufacturing and mounting(including parts procurement).
• Start of preliminary experiment at KAGRA site.

• Start production of equipment(As soon as parts are delivered).-->Start PCB check.

• Experiment schedule(for KAGRA site).-->24th( Tokyo-->Toyama ),25-26th full(KAGRA),27th(Reserve and Toyama --> Tokyo )

Other site works

• 7/25 - 26: Y-arm water pump exchange
• End of Aug. to Nov.: Mozumi entrance will be closed

Safety

• Incidents:
  • One of the rods supporting the SF damper ring of the BS came off while pulling the suspension out of the chamber.
  • Dropped a tool from the second floor to the first floor while working on PR2
  • When taking out the clamps for the clean booth floor panels, bottom part of the bracket fell to the first floor.
• Foreseen risks
  • Type-A: Crane work BF EQ
  • Type-B: Crane work SF, BF
  • Type-Bp: No crane work

Discussion

• What to do with the dirty maraging rods supporting the SF damping plate.
  • Check the number of rods and the receptacles we have now (Mark, Fabian, Takahashi)
    • Order new rods if the number is not enough
  • Send the current rods for nickel plating (Takahashi)
• Signal generators for LVDT
  • Takahashi-san will send VIS the information of the NIKHEF daughter board
  • Share the information with AEL and discuss whether we should buy those boards or do something else
