Progress report

Schedule Chart

Type-A : (PDF/MPP)

Type-B: (PDF/MPP)

Type-A (Takahashi)

Past week report

[Y-front]

  • Mounted the BF onto the EQ stop. The DP was suspended from the BF.
  • Tuned the BF. Compressed the all five blades. The tuned frequency was 0.24Hz at 198kg.
  • Modified the FR for BF. The fixing point of blade was changed. The FR can cover the full range of keystone.
  • Calibrated the LVDT for BF.
  • Made the short cables for BF damper.
  • Assembled the end plate for F3.
  • Extended the EQ stop to the F3 stage. Attached the support plate for the BF damper.
  • Assembled the FR for F3 with the new blades.
  • Assembled the connector plates for F3. Attached them to the cup.
  • Cabled for the LVDT-Actuator and the stepping motor for F3.
  • Measured the weight of F3. It was 82.9kg.
  • Mounted the F3 onto the EQ stop. The BF was suspended from the F3.
  • Cabled between the BF and the F3.
  • Tuned the F3. The tuned frequency was 0.31Hz with the additional load of 6kg.
  • Checked the range of FR for BF. The FR can cover the full range of keystone.

[X-front]

  • Set up the analog drivers in the rack.
  • Checked the dimension of distance between the beam axis and the cross tube.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Calibrate the LVDT for F3.
  • Go to the F2 stage.
  • Tune the TF in X-front.

Type B (Mark)

Report for week of 6/11

  • Mark fixed some channels displaying white on the BS MEDM screens due to issues from splitting the model.
  • Enzo redid the SR3 BIO connections to match the now-working BS setup. He also fixed PR2, which had a similar problem.
  • Enzo replaced LPCDs with HPCDs in the SR3.
  • Hirata-san installed the cable clamps and Cu segments on the SF cap.
  • Hirata-san and Kozu-kun continued tuning the filter in PI #3. Unfortunately it seems to be rather weaker than expected, and we have not found a compression setting that gives a good frequency. We may have to use tricks like reducing the number of Cu segments on the SF (or using Al ones) to save weight.
  • Mark, Enzo and Terrence suspended the BF/... section from the SF, routed all the cables from the BF/... stages up around the BF, via the SF-BF margin rod to the bottom of the SF, and got the hanging section aligned for TFs.
  • Enzo cabled and tested the SF LVDT (but not yet the SF FR).
  • Mark and Enzo released an update to the BS Circuit Diagram D1503600-v15 with corrections to the BIO and other sections.

Plan for week of 6/18

  • Mark, Enzo, Hirata-san, Kozu-kun, Terrence at Kamioka Mon-Fri.
  • --
  • Receive second and third sets of LBB damper rings.
  • Take TFs.
  • Cable, test SF LVDT and FR.
  • Add calculated ballast to SF.
  • Finish tuning F0 #3 for SR3.
  • Park F0 #1 (for SR2) in top of SR3 assembly frame.
  • Move F0 #3 behind SR3.
  • Move F0 #1 to "factory" area (in front of SRM) and start rebuild.
  • Install PI.
  • Suspend SF/... section.
  • Lots of cabling.

Plan for week of 6/25

  • Mark, Enzo, Hirata-san, Kozu-kun, Terrence at Kamioka Mon-Fri.

To-Do Lists, Schedule

Vacation Info

Type-Bp (Shoda)

Past week report

  • Worked on Oplev diagonalization for PR2 and PR3.
  • Coil balance of PR2 optic was adjusted
  • PR3 IM and BF sensor matrices were also diagonalized.
  • Working on decay time (w/ damping) measurement on PR3.

Plan for coming weeks

OMMT & OSTM (Ohishi)

Past week report

  • Thanks to Tanioka-san and Nagano-san (NICT), we have finished parts replacement of IMMT1.
  • We have replaced stainless screws in the intermediate mass with non-magnetic screws.
  • Measured transfer functions of length, pitch, and yaw and found no problem.

Plan for coming weeks

  • Order some parts of OMMT.
