ISC Meeting on 2016/1/12

14:00 - 15:00 on SeeVogh

Participants: Michimura, H. Yamamoto, K. Arai, Aso, Akutsu

  1. Electronics Preparation Status (Michimura, Aso)
  2. iKAGRA electronics tasklist
  3. RF PD
    • assembly (Aso, Doi)
    • test, tune resonances (?)
  4. Cable assembly
    • RF low loss cables with N connectors
      • For short (less than 10m) cables, will not use the semi-rigid low-loss cables. Ask a company to make a bunch of flexible coaxial cables with N connectors (and some long SMA cables).
    • Diff-to-single cables: Only 2 of them are needed. Make them as a part of installation work.
    • we have purchased all the other ISC cables
  5. Cabling
    • IMC ASC related (Nakano, U-Toyama students?)
    • REFL related (Michimura, Ando-lab students)
    • IMMT1T(RFPD,DCQPDx2) related (Michimura, Ando-lab students)
    • We have decided not to use IMMT2T in the IOO meeting
  6. Magnet noise
    • SmCo 2mm dia, 3mm thick for BS TM is OK

    • magnetic noise from TM: ~1/18 of the displacement noise requirement at 10 Hz
    • DAC output at lock acquisition for TM: ~630 counts
    • SmCo 10mm dia, 10mm thick for BS IM (no change in size)

    • Magnetic noise from IM: ~1/20 of the displacement noise requirement at 10Hz
    • DAC output during lock for IM: ~3425 counts RMS
    • See JGW-T1504450 for the summary of the discussion (includes the discussion for SRs and PRs)
  7. FFT simulation (H. Yamamoto, Hirose)
    • Need transmission data of ETM. What is the status of delivery ?
    • H. Yamamoto will prepare the simulation code so that once the data is available, we can quickly check the requirements on the ITM polishing.
  8. Initial Alignment of iKAGRA.
    • How to send the beam to the end at 3km away ?
      • Automatically scan the beam direction using PR3 (for X arm) and check for flashes on the ETM suspension using a video camera.
      • Automation of the above process is an interesting project for students
  9. Next meting 2016/1/25
