Optical Table Cover for TMS and IMC Review on 2021/04/12 13:00 - 14:00

Materials

What is the purpose?
- Light shielding to block ambient light to PDs and QPDs (also to block ambient light going into the chambers)
- Dust cover to keep optical table clean
- To block laser beams going outside for safety reasons
- To protect periscopes and other optics (and viewports) from being touched unintentionally

Anything burnable? Especially for IMC, 100 W-class beam can come out from the chamber
- A/I: Check the material of rubbers, material of the aluminum panel surface [Michimura]
Anything that create heat inside the covers?
- Beam dumps. IMC REFL has water-cooled beam dump to attenuate the beam. REFL not yet.
- Heat generated by other circuits should be negligible.
Which sides have doors?
- Three sides, except for the side close to vacuum chamber.
When should be assemble them?
- IMC REFL/IMC TRANS: After mid-June, when IMC commissioning finishes
- TRX/TRY: After July, since we might shoot green beam in June
- AS: We will not use AS for a while
- Decision: Order first and discuss the assembly schedule when the parts are ready
How to proceed with the ordering?
- A/I: Check with Kikuchi-san [Michiumura]
