VIS Meeting on 2016/3/11
2016/3/11 13:00 -
Kamioka NAOJ Room & SeeVogh
Participants:Akutsu, Takahashi, Ishizaki, Tanaka, Fabian, Mark, Shoda, Aso, Okutomi, Raffaele
Schedule
Schedule status (Aso) bKAGRA VIS
PR3
- PR3 Operation Status (Fujii)
- Watchdog tripped. Will disable the watchdog (not yet done ?)
Traverser and Stepper motor remote control (Shoda) -> Not yet succeeded (TAMA prototype method cannot be used in KAGRA). Tested in Mitaka, and updated later.
- Still trying to fix communication problem of the TCP/IP-Serial converter.
PR3 OpLev now use a collimator for a large beam to increase the range at the expense of noise. We may need to change it back to the original one if we want to reduce the noise. Probably not necessary for iKAGRA.
Plan for the next week
Mon:Operation of PR3 (Aso)
- Tue: Operation of PR3 (Aso)
- Wed: Operation of PR3 (Aso)
- Thu: Operation of PR3 (Aso)
- Fri: Operation of PR3 (Aso)
iKAGRA ETM suspension
- Current status (Ohishi)
- Watchdog disabled
Changed the collimator of the OpLev to increase the range: now roughly +/-250urad

Electronics
- What are necessary in the next few weeks ?
- Nothing
- Watch dog system (Tanaka)
Tested the prototype board with test input -> Worked fine
Put a document on the JGW-Doc
Guardian script for PR3 (Shoda, Okutomi, Fujii) -> DONE(16/03/08)
- Watching the digital watchdog status. Recover the damping control if the watchdog is tripped.
- Electronics diagram and review
Electronics document tree for VIS by Mark (http://gwdoc.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/cgi-bin/private/DocDB/ShowDocument?docid=4937)
Updated PR3 schematic with OpLev wiring (http://gwdoc.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/cgi-bin/private/DocDB/ShowDocument?docid=4795)
- Need to think about who will be rensposible for the electronics of each suspension
- Type-Bp will be controlled by Shoda but the diagram update will be done by Mark
- Type-A may be maintained by a new engineer. Will be discussed with the person later.
- We need to count electronics and cables needed for the tests, such as temporary sensors and so on.
- Operation manual for digital system is necessary
bKAGRA preparation
- Three big categories of the tasks
- Type-A: Leader = Takahashi, Okutomi, Ishizaki, a new engineer
- Type-B (BS and SRC): Leader = Mark, Fabian, Hirata
- Type-Bp modification: Leader = Shoda, Fujii, A new technician (?)
Common Issues
- #OSEM assembly status (Akutsu)
Type-B
- BS prism preparation (Mark)
- We decided to order 6 to Shinko-sha
Takahashi will call the company to have a meeting
Aso will check with Ohashi-san about the budget -> we can place an order now.
- We will use the sapphire prisms for the test hanging too
- Since we need to go forward on the BS and we can't make a decision on SR, we decided to go with tall 6.28 mm prisms, which saves adjusting other parts.
- We decided to order 6 to Shinko-sha
- Can we make SR wire breakers bigger ?
- Fukushima-san preparing test: 3/4/2016 + 1 month = ≈4/1/2016
- Flag design
- Optic flag design
- Mark made a medium footprint flag design "BS Optic Flag Concept 4 (Small Magnet, Small Hole).pdf".
- IM Flag design
- Fabian improved rigid IM flag design ("BS_IM_flag_Concept_Screwed2.pdf")
- Mark would (still) like to make a test flag with magnetic attachment.
- Mark designed a tool for aligning the magnetically self-assembling IM flag design (drawing to be posted, hopefully before meeting).
- Widen the OSEM opening (Akutsu)
- Discussed a possibility to remove the sensing function from the mirror OSEM.
- Chop off the flag part from the magnet holder
- Safer (less possibility of flag damage)
- Wider range
OpLev with two QPD sensors may be used instead to sense the longitudinal motion (Virgo is doing this)
- Question is whether the sensing noise is good enough or not
- Raffaele will look for documents/data in Virgo
Akutsu will consider if this option is possible in KAGRA OpLev
- Chop off the flag part from the magnet holder
- BS dummy optics design (Fabian)
- Hirata-san is waiting for quotes from three companies
- BS secondary prisms (no action)
- EQ stop screws, extensions and lock nuts - designed, drawn; will order in new financial year (April)
- Lower breadboard stuff
- Breadboard spring bases and associated cable clamps: in manufacture
- Breadboard springs: in manufacture
- Damper ring needs to have central hole enlarged to allow passage of suspension during installation.
- Mirapro contacted - will remove rings from clean booth ≈3/12, inspect and quote.
- Nail-head parts too short
- Hirata-san has adjusted design and made new drawings.
- Extension springs for IM pico motors: need to do new drawing from Promec, have made
- BS Assembly Frame Design (Mark, Hirata)
- Design is almost complete
- Need to add some mechanism to hook a load gauge
Mark did initial mass budget (E1604966) and wrote up some specs for load gauge adapter.
- Need to add some attachment points (e.g., ferromagnetic plates) for placing wind-shield panels.
- Need to check the structural strength, did mass budget (see above)
- Hirata-san contacted Mirapro: they will suggest a date after the iKAGRA vacuum work is done this week.
- 2D and 3D CAD
- Hirata-san worked on IM assembly drawing for BS
- BS 3D Assembly
- Hirata-san made much more up-to-date version of BS in chamber.
- Has cable clamps, lower breadboard stuff.
- Needs updates for BF and SF blade spring configuration.
- Hirata-san made much more up-to-date version of BS in chamber.
BS team need to trip to the site in the first week of April for checking the installation procedure. Having a draft procedure document ready before this is important.
- #BS gluing jigs (Tatsumi)
- #Not enough crane height problem (Hirata, Saito)
- #BS clean bag (Aso)
Type A
Task list (Takahashi)
- Thinking about a possibility of testing the long filter chain using the prototype EQ stop in Kashiwa.
Organize a kick-off meeting in the later half of March, concentrating on the room temperature part. (Takahashi) -> Plese reply to the Doodle request.
- Prototype long maraging rods (heat treated) were delivered from Aoyama
- Will start the test in the TAMA west end room using the dummy loads we have.
- Check the drift of the length
- Simultion: Okutomi will work with Fujii
- Will have a draft simulation results by the Type-A kick-off meeting.
- #Type-A Filters Optimal Load Measurements
#Takahashi will make a plan for the optimal load check and ask ATC.-> Check two filters per month from April 2016. -> Will be presented to the ATC steering committee.
- #How to manufacture the long maraging wires ?
- One prototype was machined by Ojima
Aoyama can do the heat treatment for the long rod. Will ask them soon (Takahashi) -> Still waiting for a quotation.
- How to test it ?
- We can use the prototype assembly frame in TAMA.
Type-Bp modification
- Traverser motor driver (Shoda)
- Need a box for stepping motor driver. Miyakawa-san is thinking about ordering chassis and boxes for motors. We discussed and agreed that the design of the boxes will be unified. The boxes will be designed and ordered together with those. (16/03/10)
- Miyakawa-san wants to have a driver and a motor to test
- PR2 Wire breaker problem
- Prism removal from PR2 (Hirose, Mark)
- Spare mirror is now back to Kashiwa
- Prism removal from PR2 (Hirose, Mark)
- CLIO suspension
- Ishizaki-san will come to pick it up
