Common Issues
Policy of the screw types to be used (Mark, Fabian) -> Will upload the document by Tuesday next week.
- Reflection type local sensor (Akutsu)
- OSEM assembly (Akutsu)
- Schedule for each suspension is necessary
Each leader must tell Akutsu-kun when and how many OSEMs they need by the next meeting -> Done for Type-Bp and Type-B. No OSEM for Type-A.
Type-B
- Past Week Summary
- Mark worked on schedule and task list(see above) - aiming to start suspending around 5/22.
Mark wrote assembly frame requirements doc for Mirapro: E1605037
Mark did a bit of work on a document about the flag issue, but put it on hold: T1605033
- Takahashi-san met with Shinkosha and worked out a plan for prisms.
- Hirata-san released assembly drawings for checking:
- Hirata-san also did drawings for two types of BS optic flags (regular and stub) and IM flags (rigid and magnetic) (D1503487, D1605087, D1605088, ?? - not yet posted)
- Mark checked the above for completeness and screw info - a handful of errors will be corrected.
- Hirata-san worked to finalize drawings for BS clamp modifications.
Fabian did analysis of RM wire thickness versus pitch mode frequency but ran into issues with SumCon, which it turns out does not always update all the downstream numbers that you might hope when changing wire diameters.
- Fabian wrote up the policy on coating/venting of screws: [[|T16xxTBD]]
- BS prism preparation
- Takahashi-san and Hirose-san met with Shinkosha.
- 6 prisms were ordered, to arrive just after Golden Week. Prisms will be polished and cut parallel to the correct axis for strength. Size will be 5 mm for compatibility with SR. Plan is to use for test hanging but have metal dummy prisms as a backup.
- Can we make SR wire breakers bigger ?
Fukushima-san preparing test: 3/4/2016 + 1 month = ≈4/1/2016 -> No update as of 4/1 morning - will ask.
- Flag design
- Optic flag design
- Drawings done - two types.
- IM Flag design
- Drawings done - two types.
- Widen the OSEM opening (Akutsu)
- A new local length sensing
- Need to decide the strategy for BS: three choices
- Use OSEMs as originally planned
Use OpLev, No OSEM flag
- Use reflection type sensors, No OSEM flag
- Decide later!
- Need to decide the strategy for BS: three choices
- BS dummy optics design (Fabian)
- Ordered, expected ≈4/22
- BS dummy and secondary prisms
- Dummy prisms will be 5 mm to match SR - need to adjust BS clamp blocks.
- Mark trying to find out from Tatsumi-san what height of prism is assumed by current jig.
- EQ stop screws, extensions and lock nuts - ordered - promised for 4/22
- BS Clamp Mods
Now that the prism size is back to 5 mm we would like to reinstate the plan of lowering the clamp surfaces by 1.28 mm. Some pins will need to be removed to allow this and later reinserted - Hirata-san sent the parts to IJECT for them to check feasibility. Even if they can't reduce the clamp surfaces we will have them fix the screw holes (M4 fine->M5 regular).
- Ballast masses for payload
Hirata-san created drawings DropBox link
- Drawings were checked by Mark, not yet ordered.
- Lower breadboard stuff
- Breadboard spring bases and associated cable clamps: in manufacture, expected 4/15
- Breadboard springs: in manufacture
- Damper ring mods: in manufacture, expected 4/28
- Nail-head parts: quote from Mirapro received, not yet ordered
- BS Assembly Frame Design (Mark, Hirata)
Mark wrote requirements doc for Mirapro: E1605037
- Meeting with Mirapro 4/1, 11 am at Mitaka.
- Need to add some mechanism to hook a load gauge
Mass budget (E1604966).
- Need to request some attachment points (e.g., ferromagnetic plates) for placing wind-shield panels.
- Need to request work platforms for standing on.
- Need to request rack for holding vacuum feedthroughs during testing.
- Need to request frame to hold clean bag.
- Need to check the structural strength.
- Clean bag needs to be ordered soon. Mark will make a design. Aso will contact the company.
- 2D and 3D CAD
- Assembly drawings
- Individual mass assemblies for payload all done.
- BS 3D Assembly
- Needs updates for BF and SF blade spring configuration.
- Assembly drawings
- Procedure documents
- Fabian worked on payload assembly.
- Mirror box (Tatsumi)
- Mirror box exists but Tatsumi-san has a list of modifications he'd like to make.
- Need to get clarity on secondary prism size - 5 mm or 1.28.
- Mirror box base will need holes to interface to hanging frame trolley. Tatsumi-san has agreed to do the mirror box trolley plate so that it will match the mirror box base plate. Hirata-san will design the rest of the hanging system and ask Mirapro to make it along with the assembly frame.
- Not enough crane height problem (Hirata, Saito)
Type A
Task list (Takahashi)
- Thinking about a possibility of testing the long filter chain using the prototype EQ stop in Kashiwa.
- The prototype EQ stop was transported from Kashiwa to Kamioka on 31th March.
- Pre-assembly of the EQ stop prototypr on 6-7 April. Near the SR chambers
Demonstration of installation procedure using prototype filters (SFx1 + BFx2) from May.-> No clean booth on the 2F now. Need to consider where to do the test.
- The kick-off meeting was held on 31th March.
The test of prototype long maraging rod was started. Detail is here: http://klog.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/osl/index.php?r=1185
- Load dependence was measured using a laser position sensor. Extension of 2.84mm was observed for the load of 272.8kg. The extension is consistent with the calculation (2.75mm).
- Care on the humidity should be taken to store maraging steel to avoid cracking noise.
- Type-A Filters Optimal Load Measurements
- SFs will be transported to Mitaka on April 4th to start the measurement
- Simultion (Okutomi)
- Reported a draft simulation results in the Type-A kick-off meeting.
- Simulation with a dummy mass: Send a report to people before the VIS meeting in the next week.
Type-Bp modification
- Traverser motor driver (Shoda)
- Need a box for stepping motor driver. Miyakawa-san is thinking about ordering chassis and boxes for motors. We discussed and agreed that the design of the boxes will be unified. The boxes will be designed and ordered together with those. (16/03/10)
- Miyakawa-san wants to have a driver and a motor to test
- Will give them to MIyakawa-san when Shoda-san come to Kamioka for the shifts
-> Done (3/28)
- Shoda is also asking Uraguchi-san to provide one more Traverser motor driver for the test.
- Will give them to MIyakawa-san when Shoda-san come to Kamioka for the shifts
- #PR2 Wire breaker problem
- Prism removal from PR2 (Hirose, Mark)
- Spare mirror is now back to Kashiwa
- Prism removal from PR2 (Hirose, Mark)
- #CLIO suspension
- Ishizaki-san will come to pick it up
- Modification for bKAGRA
- Uraguchi-san proposed us the new IP plan
- Shoda updated the proposal(concerns?) for the BF active damping plan
Will have a brainstorming after the JSPS meeting -> Done (3/23)
- We also discussed with Uraguchi-san, and tell him our concerns raised in our brainstorming discussion. (3/25)
- Action items for Type-Bp modification
Calculate the upper limit of the resonant fequency for IP (Fujii): MeetingMemo
Check if we need the magnetic damper for the bottom filter (Fujii): MeetingMemo
- Either the MD is used or the resonant frequency of the IP should be matched with the whole chain resonance.
Check the mass of the bottom plate and the cap of the standard filter -> Send Uraguchi-san (Shoda)
-> Done (3/31)
- Check structure analysis of the EQ stop for active damping on BF (Shoda)
- Check the minimam weight we need for the BFRM in order to damp the resonance enough (Shoda)
- Check the capability to modify the BF cap (Shoda)
We want the correct CAD model for the original Type-Bp
- The BF and SF designs are the same for Bp and B except for the blades. So the effort to make correct CAD models for those filters can be unified between the two teams. Hirata-san with help from Shoda-san will work to make correct CAD models.
- Will have a meeting with Virgo people sometime soon. Then have a review for Type-Bp
Other
- Safety
- Safety campaign is on going in the tunnel to fix dangerous cablings
- #GAS blade inspection by Virgo (Takahashi)
- Shipped the blades. Will get results in 1-2 months.
