2017/1/13 13:30 -
Participants: Takahashi, Enzo, Mark, Sato, Okutomi, Fabian, Tanaka, Ishizaki, Akutsu, Hirata, Shoda, Raffaele, Kasuya
Progress report
Type-A (Takahashi)
- Transportation: The second transportation for EQ stop parts and tools was performed in 10-11th from Mitaka to Kamioka by Kamoshida, on 12th to Y-end by Kamioka-kogyo, and on 13th to 2F by MESCO.
- EYV chamber: EYV-EYC system was vented. The repair of leaked parts is scheduled in the next week.
- Pre-isolator: Asking companies a quotation to make boxes for packing the pre-isolators.
- EQ stop, release sensor, dummy payload: Transported to the EYV area.
- BF damper: Will be delivered to Kamioka on 20th.
- Maraging wire: The production is on going. Aging for 3.3m wire is not available.
- We need to find a way to heat treat this long wire.
- We need to find a way to install this wire after the suspension is (half) installed.
- Tooling for installation: The work bench and hunger rack were ordered.
Type B (Mark)
- Hirata-san:
- Made cables for LVDT.
- Made drawings for new wire clamps.
- Ordered nut-drivers for adjusting filters during Type B/Bp assembly.
- Made an assembly drawing JGW-D1706056 with the safety bar between the IM and RM of the SRx.
- Asked ATC to manufacture parts, and modified associated drawings.
- Asked for quotes for SDC coating for hooks.
- Sent packing tools for BF.
- Talked with i-ject about quotes for payload.
- Mark and Fabian at Kamioka (plus Enzo for 2 days):
- Finished rebalance of IM
- Reinstalled IRM, adjusted OSEMs
- Replaced broken Type 3 cable on IM-H1 OSEM.
- Fixed issues with k1visbs real-time model.
- Started TFs from IRM OSEMs to IRM and IM OSEMs.
- Takahashi-san inspected the BF and advised to bring it back to Mitaka for blade replacement.
- Plan for the bottom filter fix
- First try to adjust the blade positions in place.
- If the problem cannot be fixed, we will ship the assembly bench and weights from Mitaka to Kamioka. Then replace the blades.
Type-Bp (Shoda)
Hanging Report
- The stab flags and wire breakers are glued on the mirror.
- The mirror was flipped at the beginning, so we turn the mirror over before gluing. (We need to feed it back to Hirose-san.)
- When we removed the gluing jigs, we found that the part of the gluing jig for the 2nd wire breaker was glued together and it was difficult to remove.
- Inventory was updated.
- We start hanging the mirror.
- We found the bubble leveler on the standing ruler was not reliable. We used the 2 vertical laser markers for alignment of the standing ruler.
- One of the suspension wires for the TM was slipped from the winch clamp during the hanging.
- The stab flags and wire breakers are glued on the mirror.
Next week task. Goal: Set EQ stop below BF
- Hang the mirror again
- Align the mirror
- Insert and hang RM.
- Check TF with PSs.
- Set EQ stop below BF
To do
- Check the number of screws and parts we need, not only for PR3 but also for all the suspensions.
- Inventory update
- Establish the payload disassembly procedure.
- Buy gluing tools for KAGRA use.
- What to do with the winch problem
- Inspect the winch if there is a large groove made by the wire.
- Try to clamp the wire at a different place.
- Send another winch system from Mitaka to Kamioka
IMMT (Ohishi)
IMMT1 and IMMT2 suspensions were installed on 12th Januaryklog.
- All tungsten wires are assembled(adjusted).
- Mirror installation and cable connection were not completed.
- Still need to make some mechanical parts in particular a pico-motor holder (There was a mistake ) and others related to coil holders.
- I think that the mirror installation and the First Contact peeling will be done next week.

Safety
- Incidents: none.
- Foreseen risks
- Type-A: none
- Type-B:
- In place adjustment of the BF blades: Pushing it too hard may shift the entire BF sitting on 3 fingers.
- Some crane work to remove the BF.
- Type-Bp:
- Hanging of the mirror: need a careful handling.
- Make sure that the wires are clamped tightly to the winch drum.
Discussion
- We confirmed the following system to be implemented from February.
- The long path names in the CAD model file structure causes problem with Dropbox.
- Hirata will try to simplify the directory structure
- Type-B and Type-A teams will create inventory sheets for them immediately.
How to track design changes ?
We will implement the following design management system
- The latest design files (CAD models, 2D drawings) will be put in the KAGRA Dropbox.
- The directory structure will be something like this
- Dropbox/Subsytems/VIS/Type-A/Latest/
- Latest/ containts CAD/ 2D/ ECO/ directories.
- CAD/ folder contains the latest CAD models
- 2D/ folder contains the latest 2D drawings
- ECO/ folder contains the Engineering Change Order documents
- In order to make a change to the design, the person who is proposing the change will send an Engineering Change Request (ECR) to the leader of the team (for example, Takahashi-san in the case of Type-A). In stead of submitting a formal ECR document, this request can be a discussion over email or verbal discussion.
- The team leader evaluates the ECR and decide whether this needs to be discussed with the entire VIS group (big changes) or can be approved by each team (small changes). If the ECR is small, the team leader can approve it. If not, the leader should request Aso to discuss the issue at the VIS meeting.
- Once the ECR is approved, the person proposing the change should prepare an Engineering Change Order (ECO) document to describe the change.
- ECO should be uploaded to the JGWDoc with E number.
- ECO should also be put in the ECO folder of the Dropbox.
- A summary of the ECO should also be put on the Wiki page of the change log for each suspensions to make it easier to browse the past changes.
- Aso will make a template for ECO.
How to keep track of the delivered items
We will keep an inventory of the items for each suspension type.
- The inventory is in a form of a Google Sheet
- Type-A and Type-B will make similar inventory sheets
General precautions to keep things from missing
- Keep a group of items used together, e.g. gluing jigs, in a box. Do not scatter the parts.
- Put a label on boxes. Preferably, take a picture and upload it to the google photos. Then paste the link URL to the photo to the inventory sheet.
- When wrapping clean items with Aluminum foils, put a label on it
Travel plan for the rest of the FY
- Aso will send a calculation sheet to the team leaders.
- The team leaders will fill the sheet for their team members. Then Aso will discuss with them to finalize the plan.
