Agenda/Minutes of the VIS Meeting on 2017/4/28
2017/4/28 13:30 - 14:45
Participants: Takahashi, Shoda, Sato, Ishizaki, Okutomi, Aso, Akutsu, Hirata, Mark, Tanaka, Ohishi
Progress report
- Type-A: 1-2 days delay. Will skip some steps for PI to provide the 3.3m maraging rod in time for the CRY hanging test.
- Type-B: 7 weeks delay
- Type-Bp: On schedule
Type-A (Takahashi)
Past week report
Installation in Y-end:
24th(Mon)
- The maraging wire was delivered and inserted between F1 and F2.
- Hung the F2 from the F1. The behavior of F2 was not changed.
25th(Tue)
- Tried some kinds of compression for the blade in the F2, but the behavior was not improved.
26th(Wed)
- Found that the optimal load of F2 depends on the strength to fasten the screws of the cap.
- Tuned the F2 by changing the strength. Obtained the frequency less than 0.3Hz.
- Applied the cabling between F1 and F2.
27th(Thu)
- Cabling between F1 and F2.
- Chacked the load for F1. The weight was too large.
- Disassembled the cabling and took out the ballast masses from the inside of F2.
- Repaired the cabling.
28th(Fri)
- Tuned the F1.
- Calibrated the LVDT.
- Checked the range of FR.
Plan for coming weeks
- Lift down the F2 into the corrugate tube.
- Prepare for the pre-isolator.
Type B (Mark)
Past week report
At Kamioka (Mark, Fabian, Enzo, Perry, Hirata-san):
- We craned in the PI.
- We assembled the thrust bearing holder that receives the PI-SF rod. (The recess for the bearing was very slightly too small and had a burr near a retaining screw hole that prevented the bearing from seating properly, and so it required filing and re-cleaning.)
- We hooked the SF and lowered the jacks under the SF to suspend the SF/... section.
The top filter rose when unlocked, and required about 1.8 kg to send it back down. Therefore we may be OK - the top filter seems to have about 8 kg more capacity than as measured by G&M. The hex cable clamp (≈0.25 kg) and the cables between the PI and SF still have to be added, but we can get an extra 3 kg by removing one of the three Cu damper segments (and rearranging the other two).
- Hirata-san built and installed three LBB blade units.
- Enzo kept debugging the SF LVDT. We repaired several broken wires, but it's still not behaving correctly. We suspect the ordering of the three coils (input output and excitation) may not be right. If so, we should be able to fix it with an adapter cable without removing the SF cap.
- Mark and Enzo published new versions of the circuit diagram E1503600 and cable spec E1503901 with new detail on the DIO for the HPCDs and corrections to the OSEMs and OSEM cables (the gender of the D-Micro connections had been wrong).
Plan for coming weeks
For more detail, see KAGRA/Subgroups/VIS/TypeB/ToDo.
Week of 5/1:
- No activity (Golden Week).
Week of 5/8:
- Commence work Tuesday 5/9.
- Remove PI temporarily.
- Continue debugging SF LVDT (removing cap if necessary).
- Investigate possible mis-alignment between the tips of the LBB blades and the holes for the rods going down to the damper ring.
- Add magnets to upper SF damper ring.
- Reinstall PI, this time with rods and damper ring.
- Reinstall PI-SF rod, this time with hex cable clamp.
- Install PI yaw stepper.
- Wire up PI yaw stepper and vertical fishing-rod steppers.
- Route cables from SF to PI (may involve removing part of Cu damper).
Week of 5/15:
- Enzo from Tuesday 5/16 (driving test), rest of team from Monday.
- Prepare for PR2 bellows removal on 5/15 (move table with tools).
- Wire up PI horizontal LVDTs and steppers.
- Install geophones.
- Unlock IP, re-level PI to center PI, add arc weights as required.
Discussion
- Stepper Motors
- We need to buy 4 extra stepper motors for the Type-B top filters
- We have requested 17 stepper motor drivers to AEL
Type-B & Bp: 7, Type-A: 8, Spare: 2
- It turns out that with the above extra stepper motors, we need 4 more drivers (1 each for Type-B)
- However, two suspensions can share a driver.
We can combine: PR3 & PRM, BS & SR2, SR3 & SRM.
- By doing this, the total number of drivers necessary will be 16. We will still have 1 spare.
Type-Bp (Shoda)
Past week report
- IM control loop tested
- All loops are closed simultaneously.
- Optical bench installation test completed.
- Installation procedure is established.
- One of the screw holes on the optical bench in PR3 is not good. We need to re-drill it.
- Some parts are not enough for 3rd suspension again...
Plan for coming weeks
- Signal check for BF/BFRM
- Set SF
- Hang BF, adjust BF weight, balance.
IMMT (Ohishi)
Past week report
Plan for coming weeks
Watchdog system (Tanaka)
Past week report
Start operation test of system.-->
Functional test of S/W --> Confirm operation.
Functional test of H/W --> There was a mistake in some circuits.
- Correspond by correction of the circuit pattern.
- Fixed in next PCB creation(planned).
Plan for coming weeks
- Start mounting on the 19 inch rack(Main 4ch WDS box).
- Start creation of extended I/O PCB(plot type (With the Main 4ch WDS box and I/O box,I/O board For relay).
Safety
- Incidents:
- Takahashi-san fell on his behind from an A-shaped ladder while lifting up a hand-lifter to the 2F of the cryo-clean booth.
- They temporarily parked the hand lifter on top of the ladder to change the slings.
- This should not have been done in the first place.
- Foreseen risks
- Type-A: Crane work
- Type-B: Crane work
- Type-Bp: Crane work
Discussion
- Lighting and power outlets in the clean booths
Plan: https://www.dropbox.com/s/23su1kko4c4eknh/all_area_draft.pdf?dl=0
- This plan is good.
