Type-A : (PDF/MPP)
Type-A (Takahashi)
Past week report
[Y-end]
- Connected the PT100 sensor for BF to the monitor system for CRY.
- Checked the yaw rotation in BF. No problem.
[X-front]
- Installed the main items (footholds, workbench, chairs, tools, etc.) into the clean booth.
- Attached the release sensors onto the end plate for DP with cabling.
- Started the assembly of side stopper. The parts for slider had a problem (too tight).
[SRM]
- Took out the IP and TF from each box.
- Found the blades (2 of 3) for TF were broken (completely cut off). The blades were removed.
- Combined the IP and the TF. Connected the IP legs with the TF plate.
- Cabled the vertical LVDT coils.
- Fixed the upper plate of LVDT-Actuator units onto the TF plate.
- Assembled the fishing rod of TF with cabling.
- Assembled the yaw rotary of receptacle in the TF.
- Packed the PI into the box.
Plan for coming weeks
- The evacuation of EYV chamber will be started in the 23th morning.
- Pre-assembly of BF damper.
- Assembly of DP stage.
Type B (Mark)
Report for week of 1/15
- We set up the QPD for the OL, initialized the OL and TM sections of the RTM, and did TFs from the TM OSEMs to the OL.
- Initially we had no coherence, but we debugged issues with the watchdog, LPCD, and DAC board and then got good TFs.
- We lifted the IM/RM/SR with the load gauge adapter and checked the weight, which was close to the mass budget.
- We installed the section of the AF above the IM, and the BF cross bars and jacks, and craned in the BF.
- We installed the BF-IRM rods, IRM, BF-IM rod, flying saucer and the cable clamps on the bottom of the BF.
- We hooked the IM section, but found it was heavy by several hundred grams. We also noticed the BF keystone had a noticeable tilt of about 1.2 mm (high on the +X side).
- We removed 738 g of trim mass and found that load rose and sat about 2 mm high. So the discrepancy is of order 500-600 g.
- Shoda-san, Enzo and Kozu-kun made and characterized a batch of OSEMs.
- Hirata-san finished drawings for the improved BS PI yaw/vertical adjustment, placed orders for damping ring receptacles and other items, and prepared the second SR BF in case we needed to swap it in.
Plan for week of 1/22
- Fix or swap BF.
- Route selected cables to flange.
- Test IM picos and BF yaw pico.
Plan for week of 1/29
- Enzo at Mitaka 1/29 and most of 1/30, then vacation.
- Kozu-kun away.
- All others at Kamioka.
- Build IRM around IM.
- Cable/test/adjust IM OSEMs.
- Time permitting, do TFs from IM OSEMs to themselves and to optical sensor.
Vacation Info
- Enzo 1/30-2/19 (at Mitaka 1/29, part of 1/30)
- Kozu-kun 1/29-2/2

OMMT & OSTM (Ohishi)
Past week report
- Hanging jig parts arrived from FCL. Some minor problems need to be fixed. Drawings will be delivered today.
- Visited machine shop of Toyama Univ. Asked them to make some mechanical parts.
Made a parts list and checked the status. Will update from time to time.
- Vertical vibration isolation bellows.
- Firstly contacted with Mirapro but they cannot make the ones we are now using. I'll contact with NIPPON VALQUA INDUSTRIES, LTD.
- Mirror status
- OMMTs will arrive soon. OSTM will be ordered next FY. Perhaps need half a year.
Plan for coming weeks
- Check hanging jig drawings.
- Assemble the hanging jig.
- Resume OSEM test.
Watchdog system (Tanaka)

- Feb 18: Black out of the Mozumi buildings

- Incidents: no incident
- Foreseen risks
- Type-A: Crane
- Type-B: Crane
- Type-Bp: None
Discussion
Temperature sensors
- PR2, SR2 installed
- PR3, PRM are not yet installed. Currently put in the front room.
- BS sensor needs to be moved to the chamber
- VIS team will do the maintenance (battery change) of those sensors
Broken SRM TF blades
- Check the blades for the ITM TFs if they have similar problems (Takahashi)
- Check the BS TF blades when the next we open the BS chamber (Mark)
- Send the broken blades to Virgo for inspection (Takahashi)
- Check the number of spare blades for SR TF (Takahashi)
- These blades are not Ni plated. May be rusted. We should consider how to treat them including thermal treatment after Ni plating for dehydrogenation.
Tilted BF GAS
- Swap the current BF with the second BF to see if it is tilted
- Bring spare blades for SR BF from Mitaka to Kamioka (Hirata)
- Prepare for the BF service work to balance the blades.
TF fishing rod
- Double blade configuration fixed the tilting problem for Type-A
- We should implement the same configuration for Type-B
- Need more fishing rod blades. Sato-san will order them together with the blades necessary for Type-A.
